Can't get enough! Been reading through these forums for a while, finally decided to post. The game is just fantastic, and perfectly suits my grinding tendencies. I had grinded up to level 23 in the first release, eagerly awaiting the update to attack Chapter 4. Problem is, now that the update is out, I'm completely addicted to hardcore mode! For those interested, my current non-hardcore setup: Level 23 Day 627 3.64m GP Cherries 6 Luck 9 (with +1 from weapon) Fighter 9 Cyborgette 7 (with +2 from weapon) Necromancer 5 (with +1 from bonus) Switch between the following weapons depending on situation: Atma Weapon Superior Spiked Chain 43/5 10% chest Superior Hand Saw 44/4 +1 luck Superior Gold Biped Robot 45/3 25% to do extra 33 Superior Silver Flying Robot 39/5 5% XP Golden Robot Head 30/5 +2 level to Cyborgette I use Better Chest x2 and luck +1 when I'm mining for items. Still haven't gotten the Best Chest yet. I use High Chance of XP++ x3 when I'm grinding for levels. Question: Why so many individual badges and so few global leaderboards? I'd like to see highest XP/level, win percentage, highest combined party levels, etc. Thanks again for such an amazing game!
Spoiler Is there any easier way to get the Lover's Paintings? My current strategy is to just equip 3x hit rate+ for whatever weapon I am trying to get the painting for, and equipping 3 of that weapon and just grinding on the first enemy of chapter 4. He dropped a Gunner painter after about 50 fights, now I am trying to get the Necromancer painting and it is taking forever. Any tips on speeding up painting farming? Do bonus loot+ bonuses increase the odds at all?
Spoiler small bug, or at least annoyance.. Had bought 3 cursed kittens, but when it changes, you only get 1 and the original other two are gone! So, if you're gonna use the kitten, just buy one at a time..
Spoiler I finally got the Necromancer. Now I am grinding for the Alchemist. So far I have the Diamond weapons for Gunner, Cyborgette, and Necromancer. The Lover's fights are infinitely easier than actually getting the painting in the first place. EDIT: Awesome! It only took 14 fights to get the Alchemist painting Also, not sure if anyone realized it yet, but you can use someone's diamond weapon without equipping the party member and the special function will still work! Very cool.
Spoiler any tips on getting the paintings? I'm on 100 fights, still no sign of fighter.. Using +weapon hit rate bonuses, no extra chests Got up to Wooden Fun 5, need Fighter Diamond for the rest I think..
Spoiler I got all of the paintings except for the King Painting. What I did was equip 1 scepter (I was hoping to get the King's Painting ) and 2 of the weapons for the person whose painting I wanted. Then I found the enemy in Chapter 4 that was WEAK to that weapon type and just grinded them for the painting. For the fighter I equipped 1 Scepter, 1 Atma Weapon, and 1 Superior Push Dagger. I also equipped 3 Melee Weapons Hit Rate+ bonuses. My Party was Fighter, Cyborgette, and Gunner. I kept fighting the "What Crown?" fight on page 3. I got really lucky though, I only had to fight him 9 times before getting the painting for the fighter. I have the diamond weapons for every class EXCEPT for the Tamer. For some reason I am having the hardest time beating the Tamer Lover Also, if you are having trouble with later fights, I HIGHLY recommend doing the following: 1.) Buy 1-3 Cursed Kittens from the shop for 100K. The more you have, the faster this will go, but you only really need 1. 2.) Equip the Cursed Kitten (or 2, or 3) but only the Cursed Kitten, no other weapons. Also Equip 3x Animal Hit Rate+. Finally equip your lowest level party member (But not the King) and no other party members. 3.) Go to the first fight of Chapter 1 and grind that enemy. Try to hit the enemy as many times as possible with the Cursed Kitten before you kill them (a.k.a. purposely miss with the first reel until your down to 15 Cherries, then hit with your party member 4-5 times to kill the enemy.) After you have hit the enemy with the Cursed Kitten 128 times (total, not in one fight), you will get a new weapon. Technically you don't HAVE to do it the way that I suggested, but that is the fastest way to do it. Good Luck!
Spoiler Holy crap is the second secret enemy in Chapter 4 hard to hit. There is literally only 1 enemy in reel 3. Not only is it Hard To Hit, it is also a Zombie Killer and a Weapon Breaker! I was able to beat it, during berzerk, by using 3x Small Enemy Baits, and 1 Filled Large Bait Potion. Thankfully the extra enemies (The fat lady in a bathing suit) are not Zombie Killer Weapon Breakers. Seems like the enemy has the highest loot in the game, but boy is is tough. You absolutely HAVE to aim for this fight. Sorry luck players, but random mashing of the stop button isn't going to cut it on this one.
wow i have never seen this game before but now im sold, it looks awesome, will there be more volumes for free or a cost? also how long is this game?
Not sure. That's why I decided to use the first fight in chapter 1, you're pretty much guaranteed to win.
Thanks - I tried that setup for roughly 300 battles now, no luck.. Got Tamer, Necromancer, and King though now.. Can you have two un-cursed kittens?
To be honest I love the update but I am just confused about all this a bit. I was fighting the tamer lover and it dropped a painting. Was a complete fluke. Before I read this forum regarding the update, I thought equipping animals against the tamer lover it would drop a weapon or something but it dropped the fighter painting. So my question is - any enemy can drop a painting in volume 4 and all I need to do is just equip weapons relating to the painting I want? I've been fighting the first enemy of chapter 4 and it hasn't dropped any painting in about 30 fights. Finding the enemies the at the end of the volume hard so therefore been trying to use the curse kitten. But it's a slog fighting enemy in chapter 1. Is it really worth getting the weapon the curse kitten becomes? Thanks for any advice people. I've got all gold stars in the previous 3 volumes but this volume has really ramped up the difficulty. Has become quite dependent on luck and grinding IMO.
Where can I see the cursed kitten info? What is cursed kitten all about? Where do I see the count? And wad weapon is dropped by this kitten?
Spoiler Cursed Kitten becomes applecat. Just like any other unique weapon, you can only ever have one at a time. If you have 2 or 3 Cursed Kittens equipped when it becomes applecat, ALL of your Cursed Kittens will be removed and you will still only receive 1 applecat. There is no counter that you can look at to monitor how many hits the Cursed Kitten has made, just keep fighting until it changes. Using the setup that I recommended, I was averaging about 6-7 Cursed Kitten hits per battle, so it took me about 20+ battles to get it. But if you're only making 2-3 hits per battle it will take you 50+ battles to get it. Here are the stats: applecat Power: 1 Hit Rate: 6 Does 10 poison damage for 20 turns on hit. It can really stack a lot of continuous damage on an enemy. Not to mention it allows you to keep damaging enemies even when you miss them. After you hit an enemy with applecat 5-6 times, the poison damage is now stronger than any weapon in the game! I recommend using 2-3 Animal Hit Rate+ bonuses to really stack the damage up.
Spoiler Been loving the Applecat - Given it's only 1 damage it doesn't matter which fighter you pair it with, a matched hit still does the same damage wether or not it's the Tamer. Now farming Wooden Fun secret (Gold star). Chest drops don't help, so need to use a weapon with a drop. Ideally use Superior Spiked Flail - (69 | 5 | 20% chance to give chest), Applecat, Diamond for Fighter 300 battles on "What Crown" with 2 weapons ad cursed kitten and still no Painting Drop!! (Got tamer painting though..) I'm trying to get a second cursed kitten, but I don't think the second one will convert..
Spoiler What are the Wooden Fun levels you keep talking about? I haven't seen them yet. Are they the ones that require the King's painting? Do I just need to fight enemies with the Scepter equipped to get his painting? Also, have you beaten the Tamer Lover yet? It is the only Diamond weapon I can't get yet.
Spoiler Wooden Fun levels are the secret with the King's Painting - As you beat each one they get tougher and tougher up to 2400HP Yes, I used one sceptre and other regular equipment fighting the first battle in Chapter 4, lucky drop it didn't take too long! Beat the Tamer Lover with some luck - Diamond Dog (45|5|50% chance of adding Tamer)
