I've been playing one page a night during my treadmill session, and am having a lot of fun so far. I just found my first transmutation & poison items. I love the variety that this adds to the combat, and I hope we see more random effects/unpredictable items like this! I've encountered a weird sound bug that's hit me twice so far. For no reason that I could figure out, the sound completely cut out; I heard a weird crunching sound, and then there was no sound. Exiting KC2 and restarting it fixed the problem once, and rebooting the ipod fixed it the next time. (ipod touch 4G. iOS 6.1). However, I'd played other games prior to KC2 (pixel people, dungeon plunder), so it may well have been just a low memory problem.
I've been playing ~ one page a day since release, and I just made it to volume three. Already I'm looking forward to chapter four; is it going to be similar in length to the previous volumes?
Not yet, but probably after the first update. Never heard about that bug before. I'll look into it. Volume 4 will have 21 battles, 7 bosses and 3 secret levels!
I don't suppose there's a ballpark on when we may see this amazing update? Days / Weeks / Months (heaven forbid, years?)?
I'm actively working on it. The bottle neck is the illustrations. It takes a lot of time to make all the pages, the characters, the pixel art, the cover and the machine background. But I should have all images ready for this week. Right now most of the stuff is programmed and I'm actively balancing Volume 4. So as soon as I have the images I mostly have to replace the temporary images, test everything again and then send to Apple. So about 1 week of dev left, a couple days of testing and then the usual 7 days of Apple approval. So I'm guessing the update should be out in about 3 weeks.
Game Impressions Hi there! I was on the edge of getting this one because I don't really like casino machines like this (I was a statistics teacher, I'm sure it doesn't help!), but I found the mix of RPG/comics/mechanics quite appealing. Now, I am totally into it and recommend it to my friends (especially those fond of comics or RPG!!). I was skeptical at first, but it is far from a pure luck game!!! Strategy and choices are at the core of the gameplay, funny story and art... Two very minor cons : - an endless mode would be a great addition - 3 volumes is a bit short, but a 4th one is coming (hopefully for free...) These cons are just cons because the game is good otherwise, there would be no use to make the game last longer!! A few questions now (if you don't mind ) I was wondering how many icons you have on each wheel? Hit rate=number of icons added to the wheel, right? Sorry for my bad english, non-native speaker there!
For now on I think, if you are going to post about a game being too short and please give me more free stuff: you should be required to post what you paid for the app and how long in actual hours you played the game. I think this way even someone who taught statistics could see the value for what they paid, and be willing to provide actual monetary support or someone's additional work.
That sounds great! I'm still having a lot of fun doing one page a day, and not proceeding to a new page until I earn at least a silver in all of the battles on the previous page. I've managed to receive a serious whoopin' from the police officer boss fairly early in Chapter Three (he's smacked me down four times so far), so I'm going back to previous battles to try and get some better items/gain a level or two. I like the fact that just when I'm feeling big in the britches a boss comes along to take some of the wind out of my sails. Thumbs up!
I like Utilitarism, even if it has to be handled with caution and subtelty! But in this case it is a bit different : I always try to find a few minor cons for reviewing, I think they look less suspicious when I am looking myself for reviews for things/software I want to buy. This game sure rocks, and thank you multimage for such a great game. But I really hope for a free fourth volume. At least, don't blame me for trying to ask
This has been SUCH a better approach than trying to farm endurance boss.. I've been getting 3-4 chests per run with the following approach, winning about 60-70% of the time: Level 20 Cherries 6 (+1 from weapon to lv 7) Luck 8 Cyborgette 7 (+2 from weapon to lv 9) Necro 4 Fighter 2 Golden Robot head (30/5) (2lv to Cyborgette) Atma Weapon (?/6) (Weapon power = Cherries x3) Superior Silver Chain Robot (41/3) (Cherries +1) Better Chest Better Chest Higher chance of bonus loot x4 ------------------------------------ Current focusing on getting a few Best Chests (Is muscleman the best place?), then moving onto getting a robot with a chest bonus Any tips to improve the above setup?
My pleasure! I hate it myself when I don't know what's going on with a game for too long so I try to keep the fans in the loop. Glad you like the game! OK here's some info on how the reels work: Each reel can hold 36 symbols. These 36 symbols are split into 6 subgroup of 6 symbols. Any item uses 1 subgroup per reel. Example with the first reel: I have 3 party members with a hit rate of 5 each. Each of these party members will add 5 copy of itself and 1 miss in its subgroup. This brings us to a total of 18 symbols, 15 of them being party members. Then, the bonuses also fill in the reel. Let's say I have some gold with a 2-1-2 hit rate, another 2-1-2 gold and a 1-0-0 cherry. Since this is the first reel, I only check for the first value in the hit rate. So the first gold will add 2 copies and 4 misses, the second gold also adds 2 copies and 4 misses and the cherry adds 1 copy and 5 misses. So the bonuses also add 18 symbols, 4 being gold, 1 cherry and the rest is misses. All of this brings us to a total of 36 symbols. For the second reel, it's the exact same thing except it uses weapons instead of party members. Also, the second reel uses the second number in a bonus hit rate. In my previous example, this would mean 1 gold 5 misses, 1 gold 5 misses and 6 misses. The third reel is a little bit different. The total is still 36 symbols but the enemy can use up to 27 symbols. So the subgroups are 9,9,9 for the enemies and 3,3,3 for bonus items. So a bonus item can never have a hit rate higher than 3 in the third reel. Note that a bonus item that does not appear in the reel (ex. more chance of weapon loot) will still use a sub group in each reel. So it'll add 6 misses in the first reel, 6 misses in the second reel and 3 misses in the third reel. This makes sure that the total symbols of each reel is always 36. Finally, a hit rate booster (ex. Fighter hit rate +) does not really add hit rate to the actual party member. It will add a copy of the party member into the bonus subgroup. Example: I have a Fighter with a hit rate 5, a Gunner with a hit rate of 4 and an Alchemist with a hit rate of 5. I also have a bonus Fighter hit rate+, another bonus Fighter hit rate+ and a gold 3-2-3. The symbols that each will add in the first reel will be as follow: 5 Fighter, 1 Miss 4 Gunner, 2 Miss 5 Alchemist, 1 Miss 1 Fighter, 5 Miss 1 Fighter, 5 Miss 3 Gold, 3 Miss. Now as for the actual distribution in the reels, that is another story for later Volume 4 will be free. I think it's a good setup. The only other way this could be better is if your Fighter was higher level. The difference with her critical hit is that it uses her power instead of the weapon's power for bonus damage. So this means that the enemy's resistance is not taken into consideration when the Fighter does bonus damage from a critical hit. But since you don't have any skill points left that might not be an option... So yeah, that's a good build and muscleman is the best level to grind into.
My kingdom for a respec! ;-) Methinks move all Cyborgette levels, one into luck, the rest into fighter, then swap the weapons: - Atma Weapon - Golden Knife (Fighter +2) - Superior Spiked chain
That is good news. Let's go rate this game a well deserved 5-star comment! And thanks for being there
Where can I find the Better/Best Chest bonuses? Are they found on any specific level or just randomly, and would the 4X Loot Bonus help in fettng them? Thanks in advance for any info and advice.
For info on the update, including all the new features, check out this thread: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=183011 There will be a respec option in the coming update. Check out the update thread for more info! You can find them randomly in the secret of volume 3. The 4X bonus loot will indeed help you find them.
Just found this, but not sure how it works! Presumably anything that has a 'Chance of X' has more chance of it happening? So 10% chance of dropping chest, appears same number of times in the reels but has a 40% chance of dropping? Also presumably only applies to middle reel?
Sorry I couldn't make this item clearer. It actually gives you more chance to get in-reel bonuses from end of battle chests. In-reel bonuses are bonuses that appear directly in the reels like chests, gold, xp and cherries.
Ah! Ok, gotcha. I assumed "High chance to get more bonus loot" did that. Does "in-reel bonus" = chests, gold, Xp, cherries Does "bonus loot" = enemy bait, hit rate, +Lv I which case, if I'm trying to find a Best Chest, then in-reel bonus sounds like the best option?
Bonus loot means all kinds of bonuses, including in-reel bonuses. If you are looking for Best Chest, more chance of in-reel bonuses is indeed the best option.
