Heh, I mostly wanted to show off beating a Legend without blocking once. Actually, I think the reward system is pretty much perfect. I agree that it's a good way to leverage progression, without making it an actual grind. And for people who DO want to grind massive amounts of gold, one round of Bomb Shots can earn thousands. If I had to make one small suggestion, it would be to give players a little starting gold. For classes with a weak starting combo or special (ie Krav Maga), it can be a slow grind fighting a bunch of beginner opponents until you can afford a second combo. Honestly, the one thing I want MOST right now is more color options. I'd love to see a color slider option, instead of just offering a few defaults, especially since a lot of clothes don't have matching palettes. Wow, you really want to strip people...
Here's an idea- Hold'em betting! Best of five, so first to three wins. Before the first round, both players make a blind bet (100 minimum ante). Then after each round, the winner can make an initial bet (up to a max of maybe 500?), and the loser can either call, raise, or fold. If you fold, you don't lose any more money, but you give up any chance of getting what's already in the pot (including anything you bet in previous rounds).
Those where just guesses, not ideas That sounds cool! I think we are all becoming addicted to gambling though...
See? I told you. Bomb shots is the best And no, I meant stealing the customizable parts. But hey, if the dev adds cam support and we get some pretty girls here... +1 about the color slider.
Somehow I get the feeling that if you guys had your way, Kinetic Damage would be a strip poker fighting game... But I fully support the idea of matches between AI Partners (with coaching system in place), coupled with hold'em betting. It really gives off the 'Grand Strike Casino' vibe, and you get to watch and influence a full match instead of just reading logs like in Street Fighter IV Volt. It'll be like watching a glorified cockfight, really. That'll totally draw in the fans
Just tried the game and I really like it! But yeah, you do need to have better looking fighter model. Also, the "S" button is a big hard to reach on a full sized iPad, any workaround?
If you really like it , don't forget to write a review about it on the appstore. For the S button, it's a question of habit. you can also resize the buttons in the menu during a fight if you want
Oh, I'm not aware that I can changer the hud size well, still doesn't help much though, when I make the direction pad smaller the attack buttons become hard to reach instead >_> Will definitely write a review nonetheless, great game!
You can make a pretty cool looking character. Check out the tattoos Not sure about the S button on an iPad (I'm playing on an iPhone), but iCade compatibility is coming in an update. Special and Grab will both have their own button.
Question: If I buy a new martial art for my character, can I switch back for free and keep all my specials/combos? Or does everything reset when I change arts? Question 2: Why do I have 50k credits on my TKD fighter after one night? >_>
Question 1:When you switch martial arts you have all the combos/specials of the new technique available to you. To switch back to your original art you have to pay the 25,000 credits. Question 2: You got skills and this game is addictive
Your char definitely looks cool m44, and that was a great finishing combo you got here @Tiger : To reach 50k creds in such a short time, you certainly are very skilled Actually I made the TaeKwonDo Art to please gamers who like tactical counters ("Tactics" special), baits ("Pulse") and combos ("Machine Gun"). It's a balanced Art between speed, range and strength that is made to feel very flexible and dynamic. The resulting gameplay does feel calm, but deadly tactical, rewarding opponent lecturing a lot. Sidenote : thanks Jared for your mention of KD in latest Touch Arcade Show I really appreciate guys.
Tis good news. Just screen shotted the glitch. I'll post later for any newbies so they can see saansilt's awesome glitch hunting.
@TigerPrezX Glad to hear you are having a blast racking up credits! Have you tried hiring a CPU partner? I'm curious to what you think about the pyramid controller system.
Ah yeah, I won a legend ninjitsu partner pretty early, but I haven't found much use for her yet. I haven't quite gotten the hang of coaching yet, so she tends to win most often when I leave her mostly to her own devices. Occasionally if she gets too aggressive without energy I'll push her back toward reactive, or if she gets purely analytic with a full energy bar I'll push her toward aggressive, but that's about it. Even when she wins though, she's still incredibly slow. It's just not time-effective to play relay fights and wait for her, when I could just play a round of point sparring or no defense, for more credits in less than half the time.
I switched my character to Taekwondo, and I've been having a lot of fun with that technique. You Tekken players could have a field day with the "spinning carnage" special. You basically launch your opponent and juggle them. . . If you have the energy you can run a standard combo, but if not you end up doing something like jab, jab, jab, fk, sweep (there's probably a much better string of normals ). It's also fun to jump in and unload the "machine gun" kicks. . . . Totally night and day different from Thai Chi Chuan.
It's funny, I've always known TKD to have a reputation of arrogance, since it's a sport rather than fighting art, and is known for being as impractical as it is demanding. Playing TKD in Kinetic Damage, I feel much more confident than with my other styles. With TKD, I never worry that I won't be able to attack. I know I can poke at will, I know I can convert anything into big damage, and once I get a good rhythm going, it's not uncommon to beat a legend without even taking damage. It's much different than Krav Maga, where I'm always on edge and tense because I have to constantly think and strategize. It's very different than Muay Thai, where I'm happy to trade hits instead of trying to constantly pressure. With TKD, I can flow freely without really worrying about anything. I guess it's not surprising that my only losses with TKD come against repeated Pivots... lol.
