Dang it! Lose Sparring Legend Tai Chi Lose Sparring Legend Kung Fu Lose sparring Legend I forget I'm heading to bed now. Win tommorow I will try to Rest I must Fun today I still had.
My advice would be to play it slow and tactical against Legend opponents, since I find they tend to have really quick reflexes. So in my case (playing Krav Maga) I wait for them to come in aggressive, then either try to pull off a counter and follow through with a grab combo, or poke them just when they're dashing in and follow through with a combo (one of the most beautiful things is that a combo can be initiated from almost any basic attack). Alternatively, I wait till they're out of energy from dashing or pulling off combos, then pull a basic grab/throw for some cheap damage. As can be expected, most of my wins against legend opponents are timeouts rather than knockouts...but hey, a win is a win
I was sleppy. Stupid idea to try and beat legend when I can not really put it all together. Heck. Night all Usually I do beat legends. This was just a bad run. Gonna jeet off now.
Definitely on my "to get ASAF Pheonix Wright" list. If I could give one piece of advice to the dev (it probably might have been mentioned) but the reason I think this game is going unnoticed is because the icon looks... I don't know how to put it... unappealing? I flicked over this game on the TA app for quite some time to select another game and then accidentally clicked this one, and it sounded AMAZING once you read the text about the game. It sucks, but an icon can make or break your games sales
Hi Oceraux ! This sounds very strange ... do you have a jailbroken device ? Sounds like a write protection or something. Persistent data is saved into what Unity decides to be "persistent path", aka on iOS the destination where apps are allowed to write (= Documents folder). It works fine on non jailbroken devices, so I'm suspecting your JB device to have changed this path into something that is write locked. Or it could be that your JB system does return a different device Unique ID between several sessions, which is used to sign the persistent data. I guess you're not the only one to play Kinetic Damage on a Jailbroken device, but that's the first time I've heard about this problem. Anyway i'll look into this, but if you have any bug, please use the www.kineticdamage.com "Contact Form" to send me a description of your problem, like : Does it happen all the time, when did it happen, how, etc ? It is more efficient for me to work on such infos if it's sent by email Actually KD looks to be pretty stable as I didn't receive more than 2 automated crash reports. But I really want a 100% bug free game, so any extended info would be welcome by mail. Thanks
Those are great technical tips ! I can't wait to see you guys sharing other ones when Multiplayer will hit About how things are going : currently finishing Training mode, + iCade, should be sent to Apple this week. Then I'll return on finishing Multi. I don't have any estimation yet, but what is left is to plug to Apple servers (I'll use it with GameCenter). Hey Saan, feel free to tell us how you manage to beat your opponents Also, about the AI, and it may be a Good news for some, and a Bad news for others (hehe) : I spotted a small precision error in a fighter placement routine, which was making the AI stand still for some second, at times. Now corrected, which means the AI will put even more pressure on higher difficulty levels __________ Also guys, I had a particular question, that could help me judge how well (or not) I understood each martial art. In real life, I only practiced Taekwondo, Judo, Karate and Savate, so I may not have a concrete feeling about other sports (even if I documented myself *a lot* about them) : Have any of you fellow players practiced one of the Martial Arts featured in Kinetic Damage ? If yes, how do you feel the mechanics & gameplay are respecting the real life "state of mind" of the sport ? Your answers will be of great interest to me, so don't hesitate to be extensive in your explanation, like telling what you like in the real life sport, how you feel it, what you understood, and how you feel about its transposition in Kinetic Damage's version ?
That sounds great! I had noticed the AI standing still at times, but I thought it was being "analytical" (waiting for an attack). Bruce Lee said: "You have to keep your reflexes so that when you want it its there. When you want to move you are moving. And when you move, you are determined to move! Not accepting even one inch less than 100 percent of your honest feelings. Not anything less than that. So that is the type of thing you have to train yourself into. To become one with your feelings so that, when you think it is." I think that good martial arts games (like KD) actually capture that state of mind.
Ok thanks for the info Oceraux, it helps to know it was on an official ROM. I don't have any problem with people playing KD on jailbroken devices though (as long as it's a purchase, so I can use the money for further development and better graphics) If you redownload the game and the problem disappear, it could come from a corrupted database, for any reason. I'll investigate this anyway. edit : one info though : any prize in the Career mode will not be saved until you wait for the very end of the match (when the popup "congratulations you win XXX credits" appears). Made that to avoid exploits. Cool so this quote also fits with Jeet Kun Do's "Velocity" special, I'm glad (Jeet Kun Do being Bruce Lee's martial art). (new page so I repost the question
Here http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=193742 My review And also, it was indeed corrupt data, done DL-ing and da-ding, never losed it.
To me, because of the prolonged absence of reviews KD will become a kind of "cult game". Something hidden and therefore fascinating, magical. Something niche, a club for enthusiasts of martial arts. Of course I hope that soon the "big" reviewers wake up and notice it, but prepare ourselves that this does not happen. Sadly.
I do Krav Maga for some years. It's too early to answer you, I will start to play with iCade (next version) and I'll back to you.
I don't think so . The game is out since the 5th june . So if they wanted to rev it, they should have reviewed it for a couple of days....
Too awesome to just stay mobile!!! I thought someone further up in this topic mentioned that TA already mentioned it on their podcast and that was all the press they were going to give it. I know you guys (especially KD and Buck, of course) really would like to see the game become more than a "cult" hit, but the fact is that it won't if it only stays mobile. I said this before, and I'll say it again. This game is too good to just stay mobile. You really need to try to branch it out to consoles and PC, even if it is through PSN, Xbox Live, and Steam (although Steam is not the only way to release on PC by a longshot.) But I really think that fighting game fans would flock to it if it was handled a certain way. If DIVEKICK can get press and fans as a total joke game, then surely this game, which is a serious and good fighting game, could as well. One thing you need to do, imo, if you want to get "serious" fighting game fans' attention, other than putting it the aforementioned platforms, is to make a versus mode with all combos and supers available from the start.
