Really really good! I've been following the progress of this game since I first heard of it sometimes before the summer, and as Pitta says, it exceeds every expectation! So simple mechanichs, yet fairly deep. I have yet to find a general strategy for winning. Sometimes I rush och sometimes I fortify and play careful. There is no luck in the game and you learn and improve from every single game. As you may know by know, you compete on a 5x5 grid, and try to conquer your opponents king. You do that by using to action per action round. You could either place one tile adjecant to your present tiles, or fortify one of your tiles, by setting up a wall in one direction which prevents your opponent from "attacking" that tile. Cutting off your opponents tiles from their king gives you one bonus tile on the next turn which basically is a game changer. DON'T LET YOUR OPPONENT CUT YOU OFF! You can play against three levels of AI, Pass'n'play or against friends or random opponents via Game Center, with matchmaking and ELO-ranking. The game shares the aestetics with Letterpress although the gameplay is more like Outwitters or Tigris & Euphrates, distilled down to the bare bone. The UI is super slick and although this is just a beta with a few errors I would gladly pay full price several times over. I've got the opportunity to try it out since yesterday and I guess I've played like 50 games since, both against AI and real opponents. Come join the beta, so I wouldn't have to get my b*tt handed to me on a silverplate by Paul everytime! For me, this game ticks all the boxes! If you have a silverplate, feel free to challenge me! //Pedroapan
The thing that strikes me most is how fast is it, yet how deep tactically it is. It's incredibly balanced. One would argue that once you make a mistake it's very difficult to recover the game (there is no undo, and I aomewhat suck at the game) because it rapidly snowballs but this makes things even more tense (would have been a problem with long games, but it's not the case). The games I love most are when you start using fortifications on both sides. So tense!!! Loving it.
Testflight Thanks for the testflight invite! I have a question though. This is my first time using testflight so I am not totally sure how to get it working. I downloaded testflight and clicked the link in the email (on both my iphone 5 and ipad air 2) to add the Kindo app (great name btw) and the link just keeps taking me to the testflight app in the app store. I can't seem to get Kindo to start downloading onto my idevices. What am I doing wrong? - greenleaf
Sounds strange. Does it work if you just open the testflight app? You should find and be able to install the game from there. Pedroapan
Hi, Thank you guys for the great feedback! Feels great to know that we managed to exceed expectations of people who've been waiting patiently for almost a year! @greenleaf: which email client are you using? Because it sounds like an issue of not accepting the invite using the Apple Mail app. We've posted on our blog the instructions to follow if you need help installing the beta and playing on Game Center: http://blog.spacebears.fr/post/110341839707/instructions-for-installing-the-kindo-testflight Thanks!
First of all thanks for the beta invite great game! Question: how did you balance for who plays first? So far i think the one who plays first has an advantage Also, i would love a rematch button
Since rushing is not a viable strategy I don't think the first turn advantage is greater than for instance chess, at least not from my experience so far. You have the option of a rematch after each game I think. P
Okay, I went to your blog and read that gmail is having problems (which is what I was using), so I tried to open it through the regular mail app and it worked great thanks for the tip. Here we go! - greenleaf
I'm so addicted to the game I can't help but accepting your challenges Pedropan, even if you destroy me every time!!!
Haha, this game is extremely good! Totally hooked. It's all about not making mistakes. It's very hard to come back if you gave away the first extra move. P
Im in the beta, Game Center Uidautfiar Add me if want to play. Why i can t play online game? I press new game, online but nothing happens....i can onlus play local and vs ai....
I'm a heavy async user...meaning it's a must for me having notifications and my normal GC account active. It's been 2 days I just keep my sandbox account active. It's THAT good, loving this game.
It looks like you need to activate the Sandbox mode. We wrote a blogpost about it here: http://blog.spacebears.fr/post/110341839707/instructions-for-installing-the-kindo-testflight Let me know how it goes! Thanks guys, we're glad you like the game that much It's becoming a bit challenging to keep up with the amount of feedback we receive by email, glad to see that you're handling things here and in the actual game!
There's a view replay button, not a rematch button. Rushing is not a viable strategy, but P1 always has more moves than P2. E.g. I play my 6th move while P2 only has 4 moves in. What do the rest think? Chess is not like this game in the sense that you capture space rather than move pawns. My 2 cents
The Rematch button replaces "Send friend request" once you're friend with your opponent. We're not sure whether there's a first or second player advantage. I'd love to have the opinion of other beta testers on this!
Thank you! To be fair, it's what Apple's Game Center service provides out of the box if implemented properly. And if both players have a good internet access!
Well, this is the first I've seen of it! I always wished that the similar game "Letterpress" had this implemented, but you always had to send your move then it would kick you out. The game flows extremely smoothly in this, and often quickly, which is what I'm looking for
Hi, I've written a rather lengthy post on our blog about occasional stalemates and how we're trying to solve them: http://blog.spacebears.fr/post/110826553707/stalemates-in-kindo-and-how-were-trying-to-avoid Looking forward to having your opinion on this!
