Try later is from apple not within the game, it's a pop up that says can't make a match try later, and GameCenter is not working in the game, other games are just fine, so what can this be. Just got it, I deleted the game and downloaded it again, and now it works again phew Ha Ha.
How many days takes a match, because Some people won't finish their move when they are losing, so sad.
Yeah, I was hoping to ace the medium AI within a few games.. a dozen later, no victories. I won against Easy 50% after a few games though. Lost my only online match so far. Good depth so far! I've got to catch a plane, I'll be playing this more. EDIT: won my first game vs normal AI! They really respect the dotted squares..
Is there a way to replay the last move made? Sometimes I end up losing because I forgot where my opponent just moved and I'll inadvertently give them an extra move or two.
A player automatically forfeits after 96h of inactivity! So those players will rapidly get back to the bottom of the leaderboard anyway PS: glad you fixed your issue with GC!
So except for rotating fortifications, the latest player move is always displayed on the board with a square marker (or a new fortification). But we're also working on a way to check the previous moves from the game screen. Stay tuned!
Congrats! Yeah the dotted tiles are really key to winning as they can be used both defensively and offensively! You'll discover later that in a few occasions it can even be useful to take one and give a bonus play to your opponent on purpose, so that they're forced to rethink their strategy and play something they didn't plan to. But that's for later
Really love that game ! You can improve yourself quickly. At first I couldn't win against the medium IA but now I beat the hard one easily . Thanks for the good job guys !
I beat the medium and the hard AI - BUT GameCenter/Online is hard. Mr_bez is my nemesis. Thanks for the good job guys
How does the scoring system works, for example I had 1196 points and after I won a match I got 1194 points, that's odd isn't it, or am I missing something. I am in the top 25 for the first time, love the game BTW. We need more players though, come on people, don't let this great game slip.
ELO has made Some great music, I can remember the album TIME, great man, and Mr.Blue Sky ofcourse, ouch I am Getting old.
E.L.O. is the best. BUT, to answer the original question, it's a rating system for competitive games (it was originally used for chess). You start with a certain value (1200, maybe?) and gain points for each win and lose points for each loss. The bigger the difference between you and your opponent, the more points will be gained/lost. Trivia: it's not an acronym. It's actually called "Elo" and is named after the guy who invented it. Note that I'm basing all this on Wikipedia. So if somebody has better info, please correct me. As for why you'd lose points after a win: as far as I understand the system, that shouldn't happen, so I can't help you there.
Scores are acting weird, or I don't understand the scoring, can I get an explanation please and thank you. I see now that when people forfeit I lose points, does that make sense, I should gain points or not.
Is this an identified pattern? We've noticed that sometimes the leaderboard displays a lower value but gets back to normal after a while. We're not using the default GC leaderboard but another option "Most Recent Score" and I think that it doesn't necessarily update in real-time the correct value. We'll investigate further, if you have any more info, please let us know! And thank you to everybody who joined the thread and said they like the game! We're glad you're enjoying it
I had a strategy but it works not against the better players, only against the newcommers, so I have to rethink this whole gameplay stuff, but it's very entertaining.
I found it quite tough to play against and you definitely got me the first time we played. Even once I got the hang of your strategy, it was very different to play against compared to anyone else I've played. I really had to work hard to beat you! I think our second game (replay here) was my favourite game of all the games I've played so far. If you'd managed to get a wall across the top as well, you'd be impossible to kill. You can see the moment I realised this halfway through the game and changed tack. I think need to use walls more sparingly though. Every time you place a wall, you aren't expanding your territory so a patient opponent can build up a larger kingdom and attack from there.
