^Agree with this. I can see why Apple acted this way The problem is they're not consistent. Theres Mario rip off clones/'homages' on the app store galore, also thought they were trying to shut down the number of Flappy Bird clones previously but theres still loads there. Nintendo would never give permission for an app like this to be available so i think Apple are being clever (and nice towards Nintendo) by stopping something like this. As we know Nintendo should be publishing some games for smartphones at some point in the future so i'm sure thats one reason why Apple may be stricter But yeah its not consistent though. But the second i saw this thread appear i thought there may be issues at some point
Yup... they Apple's pretty inconsistent. Every other clone is out there in the open. Then comes one particular parody title getting some attention, and everyone loses their minds. At least i think that's what The Joker would say...
Yeah they would have to clean a very very big mess if they want to enforce this, just check out Clash of Zombies and other Clash of Clans ripoffs, plus 2048 and flappy bird clones. and Pixel World which ripped Super Mario World sprites just got released days ago https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pixel-world!/id978932735?mt=8 The Joker comparison is funny haha, but it's a perfect way to put it.
What's screwy is the lack of understanding, he did not copy assets or any material for that matter. Christ Mario is so generic he might as well be public domain at this point.
