Alright well try this, go into one of the games profiles and click "All Applications By Khalid Shaikh". There is 12 games per page, and he has 66 pages full, you do the math.(its 792 that close of enough to 800 wouldn't you agree?) Oh and if you didn't know 150 is the max search number for the engine down there so try again.
Wow... I might have seen some of his apps... I've seen a lot of app spammers...but this is too much..
I agree... and disagree. Anyone who posts here, for example, probably doesn't have a right to complain about being "tricked" into buying Khalid's "iDracula" or "iDoom". I'm a pretty firm believer in being an informed consumer, buying games at prices you consider fair for the currently offered content, not whining when prices drop or go up, etc. etc. However, this guy is specifically preying on NEW consumers. Every day, some teenager gets an iPod touch or someone's mom gets an iPhone. And it's simply unreasonable to expect every new "iDevice" owner to scour the Internet in order to gather truckloads of information about this jungle of a marketplace. Even if someone visited Touch Arcade, the biggest iPhone gaming site on the web, chances are likely that he'd never even run across the name "Khalid Shaikh". Add all that to the fact that he prices most of his apps at $5, which unfortunately, makes them seem more legitimate. "What was that I read about '$0.99 ringtone apps'? At $5, this must be quality!" He's preying on novices, and counting on multitudes of single, misguided $5 purchases to profit off these scams. When I first got my iPod, I downloaded some crappy Jirbo game. It wasn't because I'm some stupid idiot. I was just new to the App Store and didn't know about their reputation. Not everyone is going to spend time at a gaming forum. There are tons of regular users out there, and I don't think it's fair to take advantage of them just because they aren't as fervent as others. It may not be up to Apple to police this guy. But I think everyone's distaste for him is justified.
Ok look at this: We should prepare a kind of list about all Khalid Shakir (or whatever is name is) copyright infringements. Guess it would be interesting to see what happen.
Khalid! Khalid, Khalid bo Bhalid bonana fanna fo Fhalid fee fy mo Mhalid, Khalid! Michael Huntington! Huntington, Huntington bo Buntington bonana fanna fo Funtington fee fy ko Kuntington, Michael Huntington! DS Effects! DS Effects, DS Effects bo BS Effects bonana fanna fo FS Effects fee fy mo MS Effects, DS Effects!
Kind of crap, but are either of his two apps infringing? Hard to tell. DS Effects is just a prolific writer of complete and utter crap. I'm sure some of his apps have had infringing imagery (his idiotic puzzle games for example) but they're of such crap quality that I kind of feel more sorry for a developer who in all probability spends a great deal of time in front of his mirror parroting Stuart Smalley and buying himself lollies for successfully convincing himself that he's done good work, that he's a popular developer, and for managing to make it all the way outside without shrinking too much from the big shiny ball of sky fire.
Here is one of my favorite vague and hazy titles by THE MASTER, Sofware Updates. WTF is this? A software update, news about software? What "software"? I might be interested in the latest Business Tech News, Macintosh updates, the latest Microsoft news...but who wants all of the latest news on any random "software"?
my favorite is this: he has five different crappy "tennis" games(essentially pong). The graphics are all from google images, and i was actually able to find some of the icons he used by searching for "Tennis clip art" in google images. But then, as if this weren't enough, he has FIVE DIFFERENT IDENTICAL TENNIS GAMES except that they are all different colors, one is called "iBlueTennis" and has a blue background. Another is called "iGreenTennis" and has the same background tinted green. There is also iYellowTennis, iRedTennis and iDarkTennis. but my favorite is the description: "This is a beautiful tennis game with an attractive look and sound" here are some screenshots for your enjoyment: here are iBlueTennis, iGreenTennis and iYellowTennis(for $4.99 each): here is the image he used for the racquet graphic(page 2 of google images): and here is the icon for iGreenTennis(found on page four of google images):
@dashzed Oh yeah, a favorite trick of the app spammers! Why leave something as meaningless as the background color as a preference option when you can convert each minor variation as an all new app? Like the slide puzzle scam artists who could release a single slide puzzle app with, I don't know, how about five dog images as opposed to making EACH DIFFERENT DOG a separate puzzle?
God those crappy tennis games make me even more angry Does anyone know a hitman in India? If so, please PM me with the details.
he looks like this i bet. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (Arabic: خالد شيخ محمد; also transliterated as Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, and additionally known by at least fifty aliases)[3][4] (born March 1, 1964, or April 14, 1965) is a prisoner in U.S. custody for alleged acts of terrorism, including mass murder of civilians. He was charged on February 11, 2008, with war crimes and murder by a U.S. military commission and faces the death penalty if convicted. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was a member of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda organization, although he lived in Kuwait rather than Afghanistan, heading al-Qaeda's propaganda operations from sometime around 1999. According to the 9/11 Commission Report he was "the principal architect of the 9/11 attacks." He is also thought to have had, or has confessed to, a role in many of the most significant terrorist plots over the last twenty years, including the World Trade Center 1993 bombings, the Operation Bojinka plot, an aborted 2002 attack on the U.S. Bank Tower in Los Angeles, the Bali nightclub bombings, the failed bombing of American Airlines Flight 63, the Millennium Plot, and the murder of Daniel Pearl. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was captured in Rawalpindi, Pakistan on March 1, 2003, by the Pakistani ISI, possibly in a joint action with agents of the American Diplomatic Security Service, and has been in U.S. custody since that time. In September 2006, the U.S. government announced it had moved Mohammed from a secret prison to the facility at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.[5] Human Rights Watch, the Red Cross and Mohammed himself have claimed that the American authorities have tortured him,[6] a claim that was supported by information released on February 4, 2008, when it was revealed that he was subjected to waterboarding.[7] In March 2007, after four years in captivity, including six months of detention at Guantanamo Bay, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed — as it was claimed by a Combatant Status Review Tribunal Hearing[8] in Guantanamo Bay — confessed to masterminding the September 11, 2001 attacks, the Richard Reid shoe bombing attempt to blow up an airliner over the Atlantic Ocean, the Bali nightclub bombing in Indonesia, the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and various foiled attacks.[9] On December 8, 2008, Mohammed and four co-defendants sent a note to the military judge expressing their desire to confess and plead guilty.
Relevance? Citation? Guys... you know that I despise this guy as much as the next person. But enough with the latent racism in this thread.
Amen to the above post. He's probably just some scam artist, punk teenager with a little too much time on his hands.
Whoa, that article simply had TOO MANY images of him! I also have to add that, if this is indeed the same guy, how farking sad! YouSendIt.com was actually a decently clever little web thing and I'd have even been willing to pay a small fee for the service...but this stuff in the appstore is just scammy. These apps are SO scammy that I can't help but believe even YouSendit.com was a concept he comepltely ripped off from somebody else who didn't know how to market their idea as well as this smooth piece of excrement.
