I noticed his iDoom soundboard app had been removed weeks ago. When I purchased Doom Resurrection I did a search for it to see if it was still there and poof, it was gone. There still is a lot of garbage in the app store

Dont be surprised if it happens. Eventually they need to put a stop to all the garbage and ripoff apps flooding the store, someone needs to step in during the approval process and make determinations on what would qualify an app to be quality enough or be allowed in the store. If they dont set some standards, soon the app store will have billions of apps, 60% of them garbage. Many good ones will get lost in the jungle.
Yeah, Apple does have standards. They are loose at times but they have standards to a point. It is going to be the eBay effect all over again. The app store is still in its infancy as a marketplace. Just like the dot com bust the devs that have money will survive and the smaller devs that put out crap or can't sustain themselves with built up capital will be forced out. All these apps that are flooding in are because lots of people think (just like when eBay began) that they can make millions off it. Sad truth is if you don't have money backing you it is VERY VERY VERY difficult to make a respectable income off just developing apps for JUST the iPhone. The few headline stories of small devs making $250,000 in ONE MONTH is a very small insignificant fraction of reality. But people right now are buying into it probably even more so due to the economic times we are in with so many people out of work.

I did report one of his tennis apps - pointed out to Apple that that chances of him being legally allowed to use Sonic in the icon were pretty slim at best There really needs to be some decent quality control on the App Store. Boasting about numbers of apps is a waste of time when most of them are complete and utter pap.
