I've got a time of 2:32 for Boss Rush. You only need to use the Kero Blaster for every boss, except for the train fight. Keep in mind my Kero (or Kuro? I don't know) Blaster is level 2. I'm not sure if it can be upgraded further.

NG+ is usually a modified version of the original game. I just went through NG+, and as far as I could tell, it was the exact same game up until the end, only easier because every upgrade was maxed out.

Where did you get the level 2 upgrade for it? I guess I won't be able to get it until I start over unless it's in the last area, but I'd still like to know.

The other difference in NG+ I think is that you start it with one heart whereas you start with two? in a normal game.

    1. It’s the very first location. Just the beginning of the game.
    2. It’s the location with destructible walls and safes. OXOX Hotel

I only got the third one too. :)

Is this as fun as Warhammer 40k: Carnage?

Oh, random mention of the game length because it seemed like some people were worried about the game being short:

As I said earlier, my initial play time was 3 hours. I'm at 4 hours now, so I would have got through NG+ in an hour with no cutscenes and an overpowered character. So, I have to say that this is a very big game for the genre it represents. Not to mention that I'm itching to start over again now.

Well this solves it for me. I was debating buying, with all the games and backlog I have, but was so close to hitting the buy button anyways.

I'm not 7.1+. I will never be 7.1+ (until iOS 8 is out and jailbroken). I am jailbroken; but actually buy everything I have. Equally, I will not give up my personal choice and freedom to operate my device how I would like for a game pulling out an arbitrary firmware requirement. I'd understand if it used MFI controllers or something specifically only doable with the 7.1 API, but this game honestly has no visually apparent reason to need 7.1.

Saving me money with a useless restriction, then. Won't buy on PC either, unless a logical reason for 7.1 being required can be stated by the dev.

Just buy it and change the plist.info inside the .ipa.

Logical reason: they only have to worry about current and future game compatibility.

Really love Cave Story (who doesn't?) so I'm gonna have to give this one a try! Will be fun to see how Pixel tackled working with touch controls.

    1. Download the game off iTunes You'll have to use your computer because your iOS devices will fail the version check.

    2) Find the .ipa file on your computer

    3) Change the .ipa file extension to .zip OR open the file up with an archive program like 7zip.

    4) Go to Payload/Keroblaster.app/ and extract the info.plist file.

    5) Open it with a plist editor. This could be a little tricky. With Mac I believe you can just open it in a text editor, but for Windows you can't so just pick up the 7 day trial of this http://www.icopybot.com/plist-editor.htm It's clean and safe don't worry.

    6) If you have the plist opened correctly it shouldn't look like a load of garbage, but rather like a legible list of various options.

    7) Find the MinimumOSVersion. It should say 7.1 after it. Change that to whatever you're running. I changed it to 7.0 because I'm running 7.0.4

    8) Save the file

    9) Put it back in to the IPA archive where you found it (just navigate to the right place in the archive and drag-and-drop the file in). You may be asked to overwrite the old one - just say yes. Sort the files in the archive by "Date Modified" just to make sure the info.plist is now the new one you just edited. Make sure you change the file extension back to .ipa if you changed it.

    10) Install the game via iTunes

There you are. Not the easiest method in the world, but it worked for me just fine.

On a side note, I don't know how some are playing this on iPad. The controls are crippling.
