More of the same it looks like. Does this feel like an update with added content for Neon Chrome or a full blown game? At least the last one had a cheesy gimmick which was just that gimmickry and really not that good. Whats differentiates this from Neon Chrome?
Late in the Upcoming Games thread 10Tons decided they would carry the prerelease price over for a short time for people who didnt have iOS 11.
In my opinion, it uses the same engine, but is a different game. Tons of customization via loadouts and weapons mods that you will have to tinker with for each mission. Level progression is handled differently as well-it really requires you to do some plotting and planning versus Neon Chromes run and gun style.
Why? Does this only work on iOS11 # Me and my iPad Pro on iOS 10.3.3 will hold off purchasing till that is clear. #
To add to the previous, I could never really get into Neon Chrome. I found it repetitive, and ultimately bland when compared to Leap of Fate, in particular. Jydge has broadly similar gameplay, but youre upgrading your one character (and his / her weapon) constantly, across (top of my head) 4 domains, each of which has dozens of options. And which you have to choose your loadout from. Levels feel well-planned and rewarding and, dammit, I like following my character through. Feels like WHQ1 to 2. Only in reverse. Gained soul, by gaining structure and characters (where WHQ2 sold its soul by dumping characters).
Yes! I still find it amusing that it runs smooth 60fps with the same details as the console versions on iPhone X/8/+. Also as someone pondered, the device does get noticeably warm / drains battery, but you can manage this by adjusting the detail levels in display settings. Especially the full screen bloom filters and blurred reflections require lots of GPU pixel shader power, and reflections in general need lots of draw calls, so turning them off will result in better battery life and less heat. Turning on 30 fps mode will help a lot, but that's not how it's meant to be played Also obviously this depends on the device: iPhone 4S will not be able to run it 60fps, but it's still playable based on beta feedback (can anyone here confirm this?).
It does have full support for twin stick MFi controllers too like our previous shooters. You can even test the functionality with your device with Crimsonland. It's free on App Store for the first 10 quests (one time purchase after that): https://itunes.apple.com/fi/app/crimsonland-hd/id912719088?mt=8
Loving this game, great levels, graphics are perfect. Plays so well. Loved Neon Chrome as well but this is a great Robocop/Judge Dredd style game ! Saying that i wish this company would get the Judge Dredd license, that dual stick JD game wasnt any good before. If this company did it it would be brilliant But game of the week for sure, 10Tons i think are one of my favourite devs now. Have all their games.
