Essentially the only main difference so far is the fact that you can only build/move/modify towers at the start of each round. You upgrade your towers skills not the towers themselves (so far) which then allows you to use them mid game by tapping on them. I’ve always had a softspot for Ironsides TDs so I’ve been looking forward to this but I’m not sure I like the tower placement/skills upgrade mechanic as much as the traditional TD method. caveat being I’ve only played 4 levels so far. I loved all Ironhide TD games although they became from game to game more and more of a grind. In the end Ironhide did never again balance their TD games as brilliant as they did early on in the Kongregate flash game times. I also dislike totally that the player is mostly passiv during the waves. To give the player after every wave money makes the maps more frustrating because if some enemies get past your towers, troops or heroes - there is no way to build a tower at the end of the map to kill them of. I played only up to level 8 but got totally frustrated because what ever I tried there was no way to beat level 7 with 3 stars just with good strategy and placement. And I got the feeling the game is a bit unbalanced and you need to grind and level up a lot to beat the later maps with 3 stars. After the same experience on map 8 I deleted the game. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,750 986 113 #4 ste86uk, Sep 28, 2023 I’m on level 12 and I’ve beat everything so far 3 stars and haven’t done any grinding outside repeating one level to get that third star so it’s definitely doable playing normally. I’m not sure how I feel about the game though, I’m going to play more to see how it goes but 3 rounds only is very short it doesn’t really give you time to build many towers or upgrade them with their abilities. Which for me was one of my favourite bits when now it feels a bit more like a strategy puzzle game rather than like a td game. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,750 986 113 #5 ste86uk, Dec 8, 2023 New update adding some new content.
