I know THAT - I meant that the update will take all the ones we found already away and start us all with the pre-fab book and I am not sure how many left to find - maybe they will be ones I already found. It was because of a handful of people that this update is happening but the outcome effects everyone. @Scarypharoah - how does one save in the iTunes fileshare?
30 recipes isn't alot to give to new players especially if it keeps them interested in the game. There is a ton more recipes to find yourself so it's no biggie really and the posits far outweigh the negatives. I'd rather have people keep playing the game and having fun, thereby recommending it to others and making the Developers more loot which hopefully in turn gets us new updates. The game is awesome and I'm glad that the new patch will help more people get into it.
I doubt it will be that big of a hassle, it only took me a bit over 2 days to find all the recipes the first round, and this time the book is already there and ~30 pages filled, but, yes, the principle behind this "fix" is disappointing. I hope at the very least those of us who didn't need our behinds wiped get to keep the achievement for making the craftbook and all those who come late to the party or couldn't be bothered to punch a few trees will always have a blank spot they can't fill. Kind of petty, yes, but that's where I'm at this morning The issue seems to be one of those diminishing returns fixes. If you didn't have the patience and perseverance to punch some dirt and trees until you found out how to make your first shovel or axe, what are the odds you're going to have the perseverance to comb three worlds for all their clay to build a giant Charlie Brown statue? Or is the next moan fest from these folks going to be that it takes too long to gather materials and they just want a pure sandbox mode with infinite blocks of all types and no monsters. That seems like it would have been the best approach, just head these types off at the pass: Add in a pure sandbox mode where you just start on a plain of bedrock with all recipes and unlimited blocks & components and just build to your heart's content.
I am on pc, so I right click on a file and copy, then paste to desktop. Works like a charm I backup my worlds regularly along with the character data
the more I think of this, the more I think I may not update, keep it vanilla helps that I don't mind the tapping to dig.
Well I've already started transferring stuff from my castle (which I'm tearing down again) into my new Christmas village which is in development.
One Christmas village in progress (haven't decided if the castle should stay yet) The Christmas village could be for the servants.
We acknowledged that bug (and tweeted about it) and we already fixed it for 1.0.3.. (that will bring at least stackable and bigger (up to 48 slots) chests)
Is this like in that program iExplorer (or something like that)? Or just the ipa? Or is it jailbroken? Beginning to wonder about this myself. I like the way things are right now and if this update has too many hand holding additions I am not going to like that. What I won't like is the constant red 1 that will appear on my app store icon. This is the very first time I would say "oh well" to that. That is how strong I feel. But the part that is comforting is at least I played to my satisfaction that even if a tutorial is included, I don't need it. I figured it out on my own. Major percentage of this game to be honest and for those that are waiting for the tutorial to play - they are indeed missing out an a major portion of the game and satisfaction that you get from discovery. As for the tapping? I change the way I hold the device and use my index finger if using my thumb gets too tedious. You make do, you know? There has to be SOME way to play without wrecking your hand or wrist! I figured out today that stocking my floors in Tiny Tower aggravates he tendonitis in my thumb much more than this game! The one thing is the craft book. Yes, I can find the recipes again, etc. But I am not sure how many short I am of the achievement and I may not update until I get that. I at least want to know that I got that on my own. At this point I find myself frantically trying to find all the recipes before the update hits - and that is no fun. Honestly? Maybe the full craft book should have been an IAP or something. That way those of us who don't care to look for the pages can find them and those that don't want to, buy. It's what every other game does - charges for convenience right? @pixbits - maybe it isn't too late to think of that huh? You deserve some extra money, especially if you are changing so much for so few. Then if people REALLY can't live without it, they can give you an extra couple bucks for your trouble!
Don't worry, we're sure you will like our update . We think it is a good compromise now, it's challenging without being frustrating.
No, when you have plugged the iphone into computer (on pc at least). if you click on the iphone icon and then the apps tab, the itunes fileshare should list all the apps which have filesharing enabled. if you click on junk jack in that list, there should then be visible several files. one is called char info, then there is world1 world2 and world3. right click each file and copy to desktop (it does not allow selecting of multiple files so you have to do each file seperately). Simple as that, so no jailbreaking or messing with iexplore(which incidentally, has completely stopped working for me at the moment)
1) Open iTunes 2) Select your iPhone on the left 3) Click the Apps tab (you may have to scroll down a bit) Looks like this: I love it when apps let you save like this!
Agreed. This is the first game app I've ever seen that lets you do something like this. Seems like it could potentially be abused for save scumming, but, again, it's a sandbox game. If cloning blocks is what you need to do, it won't affect me any. As a bit of clarification to scarypharaoh's instructions, at least with iTunes 10.5 + iOS 5, I was able to shift select all the files and save them to a specified location in one step.
You're right, the craft system itself certainly is not random, I choose words poorly and I apologize. What did feel random to me was my issue with the torch. I made one totally on accident and couldn't figure out how to do it again. As others have pointed out if the player can't make a couple simple items early on, the game becomes aggravating (I was stuck underground twice in the dark and had to reset worlds 3-times). To some of you others sounding harsh, shame on you! Have you no faith what-so-ever in Pixbits making the update truly awesome? Are you really so afraid they're going to destroy your precious baby? Keep the faith and keep playing, if you'll excuse me I'm have to go get my bottom wiped.
this would be soooooo awesome. i'm waiting to purchase until the update comes out so I can play it. but stuff like this would be so cool
I spent 20$ on Minecraft and I had to look online for guides, so you shouldn't be whining of a 3$ game!
