You won't be able to use the fancy sky effects, but other than that it should run fine.

It runs pretty well on my iPod 4, which is pretty much identical to a 3GS, but with a bit better processor.

Hi guys, we have some good news! Soon you will be able to find companions while exploring Junk Jack X worlds!

Pets, especially dogs and cats, will be added to the game to keep you company. You will be able to capture and place them in your trinket slot to summon them, they'll follow you wherever you go. You will be able to find different breeds and keep them in kennels or cat houses!

This places a strong foundation for future explorations of the concept, who knows what will come in the future :)

Here's a work in progress screenshot:

    More news coming soon!

My 9 year old is a massive minecraft type fan, she has various versions of that style game but always goes back to minecraft, I, myself never "got it"
One if her friends at school told her about terraria and I purchased it for her on Friday, as I do with all purchases I buy for her I do a quick check on my device before installing on hers, needles to say I got hooked and having been playing non stop for days lol.
I've came across this game quite often but never considered it due to me thinking I'd not enjoy it but now I'm not so sure, I just wanted to ask if it's worth getting this if I already have terraria, do they both offer different experiences etc?

Haha, now I know why you haven't been on TA as much recently :p

It is definitely worth getting this. On the Minecraft to Mines of Mars scale, if Minecraft is 1 and MoM is 5, JJX is a 2 and Terraria is a 3.5/4

So yeah, JJX is much more of a sandbox about mining and building, with an overarching objective in the background (finding all the portal pieces, making the portals, and reaching all the planets), than it is about building combat gear.

Although, there is still TONS of gear (unique weapons dropped from mobs, something like 8 or 9 resource levels, tons and tons of recipes for armor, tools, helmets etc, and even encrusting with different jewels to give your gear different effects.)

So yes. If you like Terraria, I recommend giving this a download as well. It has an incredible sense of exploration and discovery, especially with your first few times mining deep down, and discovering the secrets of the planets.

I am ALL about this. Can't wait. :) Love love love this game.

DO NOT hesitate to buy this game. This game as is, has loads of content. But on top of that, the devs are awesome and the updates are always fantastic. This is one game I always come back to.

I totally agree with The Cho on this one Cloudpuff. Great game, a bit friendlier than Terraria and offers enough to differentiate it. I was wondering why you weren't around as much as well haha.

I went ahead and bought, I much prefer the art style of junk jack over terraria, I keep dying though and losing items so I think I'm gonna have to read a guide or something, or ask a kid from my daughters school, they seem to know all about these things than me lol.

It does take some getting used to! haha You can adjust the difficulty though. Go to options > gameplay > difficulty. Peaceful and easy both allow you to keep your stuff when you die. It is a nice feature for just getting used to the game or for building. Then you can swith to very hard when you are ready to go hunting for all those rares! :D

If you have any questions about the game or need any help, head on over to the JJ forums. They're all quite helpful over there ;)

If I choose a harder difficulty I will get more "rare" drops? What does that mean? Mobs are almost just dropping potions. Will they get other loot? Or will chests have more valuable stuff? Will there be MORE chests? Please help ;)

More rare drops does refer to mob drops as well as chest drops :) I don't believe there will be more chests though. As far as I know (and I could be totally wrong), the amount/placement of chests is generated with the world.

The Junk Jack forum is a very helpful place. I'm a member over there as well :)
