Does anyone know a way to find rares quickly? I have a four leaf clover equipped, and I try to find rares in chests in Alba, but those chests almost never contain any rares.
You might want to consult a dictionary on the definition of "rare" There is no fast way to find rares. When you have things like the diamond ring or clover, all you're doing is increasing the already small odds of getting them. You will find *more* rares when you have the drop rate increase items equipped, but they will still be rare.
Hahaha, that's exactly what I thought about when I posted that post. But there are people on the Junk Jack X forums with dozens of rares. I'm playing this game for quite a long time, and I when wondering if those people have played it so much longer, or if there was a fast way to gain rares that I was missing. Thanks a lot for your response!
You've got a number of factors involved. - Some of those guys aren't just playing a lot, they're not doing *anything* else. You've got a lot of obsessive adolescents on the official forum with a lot of time and no money for other distractions. - Many are wearing "farming gear" where they've increased the odds as much as you can with multiple clovers and everything diamond encrusted, so that doesn't hurt. - Most seem to be focusing on Magmar where, anecdotally, drop rate is higher. Of course, it could just be that since most are focusing on Magmar, that's where most of the drops are found by simple correlation. - Law of large numbers: Everybody finds some rares, but most of the rares aren't that interesting, but *somebody* will find multiple interesting ones and that gives the illusion they had better luck when they had exactly the same luck as you.
I'm having trouble finding Seth portal pieces. Any tips? I'm so deep that enemies are ridiculously hard, and I have all word armoire as well as tanned leather boots (I'm also not sure where to find salt crystals).
Keep looking. Seriously, that's it. There is no pattern to where they are, and there is no fixed number at how many spawn. You're as likely to find them in the upper crust as you are at the bottom of the world. Salt just shows up wherever. I've found it in dirt, I've found it in rock. It's not the most common of stuff. At any rate, don't worry too much. If you're finding enemies on Terra an issue, you're not ready for Seth yet anyhow. Difficulty of enemies goes up sharply once you move to Seth. I was in full iron armor with iron and silver tools before I went to Seth, and it was still a big leap in watching out for beasties.
A couple of questions. Can store bought premium items be traded with friends? How do I go about obtaining a four leaf clover? Just grind on grass blocks until one shows up? Do you need a hoe or bare hands will do?
So I feel like I'm going to fast, like I found all three Seth pieces pretty easily. And went to it with full gold armor. But at Seth, I got so lucky, like in 2 mining session I found all the alba pieces. I kinda feel bad cus I'm reading all these posts from people that are trying so hard but can't find the pieces... What should I do? Should I keep mining in terra, or Seth, or explore alba???
1. Welcome to randomness 2. You should do what you want to do. Just keep the following in mind: reaching all five planets is, relatively speaking, a very small part of the game. All it does in the grand scheme of things is open up the possibility of spawning more Xeno or Alba class planets as stand alone worlds. Otherwise, do what entertains you, you can always go back and complete exploration of earlier planets after you move on, and nothing will change about the spawn of the next worlds if you wait.
Hell yeah, been digging around on the 3rd world for a week and found no portal pieces. Last night within about 1.5 hrs I found 3! My new mining approach is to dig an organized tunnel straight down with trap doors like C. Hannum does, then just explore outward from there in a random pattern to keep the feeling of exploration and not just feeling like work.
Where are my portals? After extensive exploration on alba I wanted to go back to Seth. I placed my portal on the surface near the entrance of my mining area. But it was gone when I wanted to go back. I chalked it up to someone stealing it as I had hosted a few mp games. But after no mp sessions on Xeno, the same thing happened and I can't go back to alba in my adventure world. Anyone know what's going on? The only thing I can think of is I frequently toggle peaceful mode on and off but that shouldn't erase my portals.
iPad, but not markedly so. In terms of where your attention is focused during mining and combat, 95% of what you do, there's no real difference. I prefer the control on the smaller screen as well. However, for building and admiring your works, iPad all the way as it shows more than twice as much area on screen. Our only iPad is an old first gen that doesn't really like JJX, can't wait to grab an iPad mini 2 next month.
The way I play, if I come across the edge of a dark, open area I try to place torches within that area to see that's in there without actually having to go into it. On iPad I can reach much farther into the dark area to place torches and extend my view compared to a smaller screen. Plus you get more item slots on the right side of the screen, on my iPod I'm constantly having to switch items out to get things done. That's my take on it.
Question:- When you start a new world, do you start by building a home or a mine or something else? And if you make a mine, do you dig vertically down and use a crapload of ladders or do you dig steps down?
