I played about 30 minutes on iOS 7, no problems. I noticed that recipes have stopped dropping, hope that's because I have them all and not because of a glitch.
No offense, but there is NO excuse for asking such a basic question a month into the game's release. Just read through the first couple of dozen pages on your time, not as if the question hasn't been asked (and asked again and asked yet again).
Really loving this game! It turns out my first hour of play was just really unlucky as I found no pages. I was playing multiplayer, so my brother may have just been getting all the drops. My one problem is that I play simple crafting mode, and I've just hit a point where I can't craft the next tier of pickaxe, so I can't actually advance any deeper. I tried changing to advanced crafting mode as I'm sure I can guess the recipe, however that's bugged out and won't change. Other than this though, it's been loads of fun to play. I highly recommend it, though I guess I should add this hasn't been the first 'wall' I've hit.
I'd try again, there is no bug with this. You either encountered a temporary glitch, in which case fully closing the game from the task bar and relaunching should clear it up, or you're confused on the process somewhere.
I still keep restarting my game grrr The furthest I've got with one game is about 2 days of playing. I had a really nice home and a heap a chests filled with items but the I decided I didn't like my mine entrance so deleted my world, deleted my player and started again. Its a great game but I'd be happy if I could stick with one world
You deleted your world and player because you didn't like the entrance to your home? I must say you have got a real tenacity and persistence in re-building every two days.
On that note, anybody know of any potential bugs for IOS 7? I'm thinking about upgrading but don't want to have any problems with my beloved JJ X And I have read most of the thread lol. Ok I see this has been already asked. I'm just going to upgrade, damn the torpedoes , or um bugs .
That's one word for it, not the word I was thinking of, but, you know ---- @Mene: Stop poking yourself in the eye, on purpose, and with a rusty nail. The only reason to delete your player is you like poking yourself in the eye. Somehow this game has held your attention for close to month even though all you've been experiencing is repetition of your first few hours with the game for that near-month. It takes a solid week of playing hours a day just to find the recipes. It takes most people more than 2 days just to get off of the first planet, and several days of dedicated portal piece hunting (and little else) to unlock all five planet types. So, I don't know what you think you're doing beyond seeking attention on the forums by divulging this aberrant behavior, but I do know that you're cheating yourself of the chance to gain any sense of what the game has to offer because you can't do more than scratch the surface in the period of time you're giving it. If a solid month of never getting out of the bronze age has entertained you, just think of what reaching the bedrock of Magmar in titanium armor could do to entertain you.
Wow man thats damn harsh I was only giving an update of what I was doing, I wasnt complaining, no need to go like that :/
I don't want reactions, I'm not 10 years old and seeking attention, I just posted an update of what I am doing with the game as I assumed that was what the thread was for. Anyway I will not comment any more on what I am doing with the game, that way you cannot get the wrong impression. Jeez this forum some times comes across really nice and friendly and sometimes well... Quite the opposite.
Used to be 5 minutes, but the 2.01 update "radically increased" the time objects hang around. Not sure what they increased it to, but it's at least 10 minutes, more than enough time to get back to wherever you dropped stuff.
If you don't want reactions, you don't post things on a public forum. Get a blog with the comments disabled if you just want to throw things out into the electronic ether safe from others giving their assessment of your posts. You're taking this way too seriously. I merely offered honest advice. You didn't have to take that advice, and you can keep on repeating the first few hours of this game on loop like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day if that's what floats your boat, but you must realize from the reactions after the first time you threw your abnormal approach to the game out there that it was not at all how anyone else is approaching the game. People get bored and quit, people mine willy nilly, people mine methodically, people play on peaceful, people play on Creative mode and see how far they can push the creation aspects of the engine, etc..; people approach the game in all kinds of different ways, but what they don't do is continually delete hours of work to "re-do" something they could have knocked down and rebuilt in 10 minutes without intentionally setting all other progress back to ground zero for no conceivable reason. The game gives you so many other ways to "start over" without literally starting over that if you weren't looking for attention or advice on how to enjoy the game more then it is quite the head scratcher why you felt the need to share the update. Anyhow, enjoy your day
If restarting the game every 2 hrs makes him happy then I say go for it. C. Hannum's post wasn't that harsh, part of one sentence was a bit insulting but it seemed like he was trying to encourage you to experience more of the game. Just sayin.
Don't you think it's sad that so many gamers and iOS users are missing out from this amazing game, because junk jack x is off the top 100???? It mKes me so mad! Like it's such a great game and I wish there were more people playing to keep pixbits running and stuff. Maybe it's just me...
Sad is an overstatement, even at 222, that's #222 out of nearly a million apps, so it's still doing better than 99.98% of the apps out there, and that's with what, by app store standards, is an extreme price point, so I think plenty of folks are still getting it. Never mind that it spent a week in the top 25 and nearly 3 weeks in the top 100. It just dropped off the visible charts after nearly a month in the app store. It has by no means performed poorly. That said, it did not do as well as it probably should do in a perfect world, but this isn't a perfect world. Right out of the gate, Apple decided to make Terraria their editor's choice even though it's on every platform out there so little reason to feature something that was going to do well regardless of whether they gave it a bump or not, but Apple handed the other premium 2D crafter a big leg up. Then Apple added Terraria to their "games like Minecraft" editor's feature and snubbed Junk Jack X even though they still have the original Junk Jack listed . And, of course you have the general herd like behavior of the masses when it comes to buying mobile games. But, you also can't just blame outside forces. The real Jack, who is the man behind the bulk of the game, isn't interested, for good or ill, on chasing mass appeal. The official forums are a poorly moderated hot mess primarily filled with adolescents, the wiki for the game still isn't live, and in-game documentation is virtually non-existent. The upshot is that Apple usually gives games that get big updates fresh spots on the "new and noteworthy" and JJX will likely wind up there multiple times as it gets big seasonal content updates. Don't worry about it too much. It's a 2 man operation on their off time, and it's probably already made them a fair return on their efforts.
