I found mine in open areas. They weren't always lit up areas, if ever. One of them was just on a shelf near some water in the dark. One time I found two within the same area.
Okay, I've found three Seth portal pieces and made the portal. Can I find the portal pieces to other worlds on Terra, or do I have to find the pieces to the next world on Seth, and then so on?
It's a chain: Seth spawns on Terra, Alba spawns on Seth, Xeno spawns on Alba, and Magmar spawns on Xeno. Time to wrap things up on Terra and check out some new scenery
Probably not best to focus so much on finding portals in and of themselves. While, yes, the progression of Terra -> Seth -> Alba -> Xeno -> Magmar is the only linear direction this game ships with, it's a very small slice of the potential of the game. That repetitive gathering of resources and treasures - what you're doing the 99.8% of the time you're not discovering a 1 block sized portal chest among the more than 150,000 ground blocks on an Adventure world - is the majority of the game, and crafting and creating with that stuff the remainder. Focus too much on the portal hunt and you're liable to find yourself on Magmar thinking, "is that it?". Good luck, hopefully you'll find your mining groove.
What'm I supposed to do with all these hops? There's no recipe for them. I figured they weren't fully implemented yet, but then I got a beer dropped from a stack of barrels in some underground biome while farming bricks...
I found some kind of demon sorcerer statue and a spider statue in the 3rd world, so far I've only found some statues here and I guess a spider helmet. Spent so much time and not found much of anything good, compared to the first two planets. I'm getting a little restless/bored but I'll keep going. 3rd planet is definitely the least interesting one so far.
If they follow the same pattern as the first Junk Jack, there will be Oktoberfest themed seasonal content released sometime next month, and I'm guessing they held off on beer brewing until then.
Guys i have three dollars in my account. I was gonna wait til later and buy Junk Jack X, but should i instead by the original? :/
Just wait. Nearly 100% of everything that was in the first game is included in this version plus a whole lot more (and the things that were left out are on the planning table, just not finished up yet). That whole lot more is not worth missing out on. Not that I don't wholeheartedly support supporting Pixbits, but if money is tight, and it must be if raising $5 over 3 weeks is an issue, you may as well wait. You would be spending $3 for a relegated product when for $2 more you would have the vastly improved version plus the support commitment that Pixbits is bringing to the game. Never mind that this is the sort of game that you can keep coming back to over several months, what's another week or two compared to that?
Hey, I just (finally) got this game, and so far it's awesome. However, I'm playing on simple crafting (I didn't like the crafting in the original) and I'm yet to find a single crafting page. Any pointers on how to do this? I haven't played adventure mode; is that where you get crafting recipes?
The only spawn difference between Adventure and Stand Alone is the matter of portals (portal pieces don't spawn nor work in non-Adventure worlds). That said, unless you went out of your way to exit the map it dropped you into when you created your character to make a Stand Alone Terra world, you *are* in an Adventure class map already since that's what the game starts you on. As for the recipes, they drop at random when you break things. It took me about 7 days to complete all the existing recipes in the launch game.
Oh, that makes sense. Guess I'll keep collecting my hops, then. I grabbed the portals out of my Loothome and brought them back to Home. I'm going to farm some portal pieces and blocks in a new adventure world. I have heaps of limestone; I'm thinking I might use Limestone Bricks, Old Bricks, or Dark Bricks to build a for-realsies base on Seth. Maybe Dark Brick for the contrast against the sand. Limestone Bricks look really good on Alba -- I've been experimenting around in creative mode. Hm...
How about some secret doors? As in walls of various types that "opened" when you tap them. My castle needs secret passages.
