    Hi,
can you help me and tell me how i can open this chest? I've tried it first with a normal tool, said it needed a hammer. Then i used a hammer and it said i need a stronger tool. I used most of my gold to create a gold hammer and now just nothing happens when i hit it, like as if its indestructible.
How can i open it, and is it worth it anyways?

You need a gold key to remove the golden lock. But I don't know what type of hammer you need once the lock is removed.

I don't really know if it's worth it, but have you opened the chest with a key already? You need to unlock the chest with a key first, to destroy it. I think a gold hammer is good enough to break it.

Edit: Wow, I had this thread open for a while, I didn't know someone already responded. My bad.

Iron or better tools can reach. With copper or worse you do this little pattern where you take out the middle block, hop up, do the top, take out the blocks on the bottom row, rinse and repeat.

Harvest with just hands, no tools.

First, as others have said, it has a lock, you always have to deal with it first. Color of lock indicates type of key (or better) that you need, in this case, gold.

Second, the color of the chest indicates what type of hammer (or better) that you need. That chest is made of antanium, so you'll need an antanium or better hammer to break it open.

To be fair, I don't think this is going to do much at all (but hopefully I'm wrong). It's a reaction to how griefers were exploiting the launch state of multiplayer, so the griefers will merely adapt.

First, it is focused on the "mugging by trap" griefing, so only prevents dropping of items if you're the joining player. The solution for griefers will be to join and kill the host for his stuff, and then they can blow up their things while they're at it.

Second, it seems unlikely anyone was creating these death traps purely for the purpose of thievery since they could have found better stuff just by spending that time playing the game. I feel griefing itself was the primary motivator. So, fine, can't kill you and make you drop your stuff, but they can kill you... again and again and again.

True, griefers always adapt but this is a great step in insulating beginners from griefing.

I think now that these changes are out I will give multiplayer a try. Was very discouraged from trying before due to the griefing reports. They might can still grief, but my newb self has more chance in not being taken advantage of now.

I used to keep switching back and forth between Home and mining worlds, just to pluck apples off my crops and eat them to replenish health. Now I can just carry a bed while mining, block out the mobs with a dirt block and sleep to full health!
Can't say if it's a good thing or a bad thing. Certainly makes things faster.

EDIT: of course, the benefit is restricted to night. But eases things :)

I would report it on the official forums because it is likely Jack/XsX will want you to send them your world. This was one of the key things that was looked at during the beta for 2.01 and no one ever lost data from either upgrading or crashes (it's been in testing for the past 10 days).

Heh, never mind, see that you already did that.
