I recall reading about the crash issue. I believe for now to uncheck under options the keep last storage under the shortcut free. Don't recall the exact term but ultimately by in checking this is supposed to solve the problem.
Does anyone know how to make tinted glass blocks? I have already made regular (clear) glass blocks. I tried searching the old wiki, but it's not there. I would totally buy the craftbook, but I am currently playing this on another person's iPad and I don't want to buy IAPs on their ID. EDIT: I think I figured out what I wanted. The "tint" is achieved by having only the background as Glass block and not one on the foreground
I'm new to these crafting games, I downloaded Terreria and this last week. I honestly hated both at first as I didn't know what to do, but the Terreria started opening up, I built a house got better weapons and armor, beat a couple of bosses, mined and mined, defended my citizens from a goblin invasion, basically I was having a blast, and then my game crashed So I decided to play Junk Jack X while the devs of Terreria release an update. It took me much longer to get into JJX, I hated the controls and I died easily losing all my stuff (there is no penalty for dying in Terreria). Also resource managment in this game is more cumbersome compared to Terrieria and crafting can be a bit confusing at times. I decided that combat of this game was just plain awful, so I switched to peaceful mode and started mining, the game has opened up tremendously for me now. Yet, I still feel the the controls are a bit off, especially compared to Terreria in which they feel more intuitive. So I don't understand why combat is involved in this game, they basically got it right in Terreria, so I get why it is there. Also complete darkness....seriously? No, endlessly torches placing doesn't enhance the game. Though I do enjoy both games I find them to be more about resource management than they are actually about crafting and building things. If someone is new to the genre I would recommend playing Terreria first as it's a bit more user friendly and has a bit more focus to it. but check this one out as well, as it's really an awesome game once you get a hang of things.
I did none of these things, I don't even *have* another world, and I got to Magmar pretty quickly (I think I posted about it a couple dozen pages ago in this thread). I will say that I've noticed a lot of suggestions in the context of this game that sound weird to me in the same way, e.g. someone suggested to keep the game on peaceful until you have gold armor... I don't think you're meant to, but it's a sandbox game and you're *free* to do it if you want. Like I wrote I only have one world and I don't have a problem with the spawn rate. But I'm used to these games and I do see the positive sides of a massive spawn rate, which is that I can farm items really quickly. If you *can* deal with a high spawn rate, that *also* means you have infinite torches, more items for better armor, and so on. But this is a moot point anyway as the devs have confirmed they're reducing it. That's your answer: It's not meant to be hardcore, it's primarily meant to be a fun sandbox.
"Meant" is probably the wrong term, but it goes beyond "free to do it" because a lot of the design assumes it. Free and easy world hopping is why the designers never thought to have tree replanting when they launched the original. After all, if you needed more wood, just create a new world, run across the surface like Paul Bunyan on meth, clear the forests, pop back to a home world and then delete the one you just deforested (and if you still needed more wood, create another world). (This is also why there's no sort of hearthstone to bring you back your base). World hopping is how you get enough of rarer resources, how you are able to have a pristine world with just your creations instead of full of mining tunnels, how you don't throw your device against a wall after the 720th long trek from the bottom of the world back to your base to drop off your inventory, and so on.
I agree with much of the gist of your post, but apparently you missed the "Continuous Time" option: turn that off and the game does pause when you go into your inventory or craftbook. Mind you, it's not 100% full proof, there is a bug I'm trying to figure out the cause of where occasionally time doesn't pause, but it's a huge improvement if you're not interested in being damaged/killed by things you can't even see because your inventory is filling the screen (Continuous Time will be set to off by default in new games starting with the next update).
I have encountered a chest with a blue outline with a green lock. I tried Mithril, titanium, and addmatium hammer, but none of them breaks it. Any help? Or is there such thing as a mithril key?
That's interesting. I knew of the option, but I am the type who prefers to play a game with its default options to play the game as the dev intends it, even if that sometimes means odd control schemes. Defaults also usually have most of their bugs ironed out. After I had heard of the bugs with keeping the last slot empty it somewhat confirmed that I was correct in that. I'm actually very much looking forward to the update to see what it brings.
Yep, I'm a proud owner of a Mithril Key! If I ever get off Terra, I may even have a chance to use it!
The goods only remain 5 minutes in the current version and then de-spawn (and if you exit the game or switch worlds, they go poof as soon as do). The time they will remain is being increased in the coming update.
Nah, it's just that most of the beta testers who actually participated are "old" players. The spawn rate for experienced players is high but not too high, plus the focus was on finding bugs, not addressing minor balance issues. It was the release to the general public that indicated they should take a second look.
I am having trouble with the app force closing on me at certain times, usually it happens right after I resume my game. When this happens, the game goes back to the more recent time I close the app, instead of resuming where I was when it force closed
Hey JJ dudes, when is the fix coming for widescreen devices? seems like it was submitted to apple a while ago.
Ok well thanks that's what I thought, I just thought apple had been fast on their approvals lately. It's not that big of a deal, I just thought some other bug fixes might be in that update.
