Not the same thing. Diamonds are essential for normal progress through the game, and they're basically a currency. Turning those into IAP would count as consumable. Not to mention, as Seil said earlier, there are equivalent items in the game already.
IMHO this is one of the easier ones to get started with. Especially if you read the "tutorial" (which is really more of a manual).
The basic game itself is easy. Controls are very simple touch-to move, tap to break. There is some typical strategy involved, that should come naturally to someone who is familiar with Minecraft. I myself relied a lot on the Wiki for the crafting recipes. You're unlikely to be overwhelmed, even if you're new to this type of game.
Sigh... This is why so many mobile games are $0 with dual currency and timers. Before expressing your sads that people who work for your entertainment deserve to be paid, why not actually educate yourself a little about the IAP Pixbits puts in their games. The asininity of the app store pricing patterns aside and the fact that devs need to do a lot more than break even to justify their time and continued development, no IAP in the Junk Jack games does *anything* you can't replicate with in-game resources and items. For example, the Giga Blast Helmet prevents explosive damage and drops bombs occasionally. In game items also prevent explosive damage and bombs are both found often and can be crafted. The mining helmet provides modest light and drops coal. In game items and mods also provide light and coal is so common I've seen some extremely active players say they've had to turn to deleting excess of it. A similar equivalence exists for all the other hats as well. In other words, the relatively teeny number of IAP helmets are there to give those who actually "get it" a way to say, "thank you", to the devs for their hard work and receive a wee bit of whimsy as a way of saying thanks for your support without in any way being unfair to those who have convinced themselves $5 is more than enough to pay for a game. In honor of your post, just bought the Golden Logo IAP
I have 7 left bottomless chest pieces. They're sitting in their own wooden chest and being not terribly useful. Must've mistaken JJX for TF2. I lol'ed.
Hey, I am a complete newbie to junk jack x so really enjoying the game so far in adventure mode. Got two seth portal pieces so far and two statues. I found a librarian set legs in a gold chest in one of the library biomes which I got excited about but as far as I can tell from the stats window, it has the exact same stats as my silver legs that I crafted. Does the librarian set have additional hidden bonuses or set bonuses? I also found a skeleton amulet off a normal skeleton mob, very nice since it adds +2 hitpoints & +7 maul attack. I was wearing the four leaf clover in my accessory slot since it seems logical that it might help with drops, is that true? Trying to determine which is better to wear. And finally, what do the following items do that I found? sqqquared monster left chest piece middle chest piece painting 4
Ok I need help ... There are few items in this game that puzzles me... in the first JJ a clock mechanism made a pendulum clock and a cookoo clock which going back into my first and learning its recipe, I can't find it in this sequel version.... clock mechanisms make... tin lumps make This game is far the best, I've had a plan down pat since I had to pretty much start over cause of multi.... won't be doing that again.... first impressions ruined multiplayer for me... My plan to survive to the bottom of the mines is this: I go into the mines with everything tool benches to the tinker bench to wood etc, and of course a bed. then when I get down a certain ways, I make a safe point loaded with torches plop bed down and set a safe spawn point, and so on if I see a particularly dangerous area I use the bed to make a new spawn point, if I die I can quickly get my stuff back. it's work the first time before being griefed.. I made it to the black obsidian like rock stuff you can't break through, am i correct on that? and got my portal pieces that way, Now this time I'm doing the same and I've gone down real far. Also when seeing a enemy near me I put stone or dirt etc around them for my safety, ive learned there AI is slighty not so smart, ive learned to lure them into stuff like lava pits, or i get lava in a bucket make a trap then lure them there lol works well! tip be careful hitting those black slimes they blow up I make lots of throwing objects like shurikens and throwing knives to kill them. My last question is are there planned updates? like JJ did where it adds more stuff to the mix like working clocks... or seasons or weather? I have only seen day and night. just curious thanks!! Plus does anyone know if this will be compatible with IOS 7 ? Im worried of updating my iPad if the apps/games are not going to work....
I do agree IAP is great though never in a f2p !! in the games that are paid and add small IAP its a great thing to buy some things. In both JJ I've bought the craft books though I wait few hours of playing then unlock the full craft book to me it's worth it and in my eyes I'm helping the developers more!
Total newbie with this genre who is having a blast! Personally, I think this game does have a fairly steep learning curve but I've been reading the wikia from Junk Jack, viewing this and the publishers forum and feel like I am slowly understanding the intricate details of the items abd how to use them. Still very confused at times on the use if items but very much enjoying this game! Definitely one of my favorite ios games!!!!
Yeah, when I first started the game I was terrified the first night when all the critter monsters came out and started attacking and I wasn't prepared for it. Tried reading the tutorial to figure out how to make a torch but kept dying while reading it. After dying numerous times with no light source at all, I just stacked 15 dirt blocks straight up in the air and stood on top of it till morning lol. I did that for the first few nights till I figured out how to make a house and torches.
As a newcomer myself, I found it very easy to grasp reading through the tutorial provided, reading this thread and asking my cousins. I really enjoy it and it's quite easy to get addicted heh.
Chest pieces are assembled into the highly desirable "bottomless" chest. It's not actually bottomless and I don't know the the number of pages in JJX, but it was 6 total in JJ. Paintings are just decorative items for home or other structures. Haven't seen the "sqqquared monster", but it's likely another deco treasure. Here's a tip: enable the item outlines in the options, this will place a little colored "L" at the bottom left corner when viewed in the inventory. The color gives you a hint to its use: purple is just treasure to display, green is consumable, gold is placeable, blue is a tool, and so on. This is the entry for JJ but I *think* the colors are all still the same: http://wiki.pixbits.com/index.php/Inventory_Outlines
No, when I wear the Giga Blast Helmet for the first time, I fell down my magic bean, and I still survived! Anyway I paid 3 dollars on IAP on this game.
After around 30 hours of play, game crashes and now when i try to play appear this message: This is the worst situation that i ever encountered in my whole ios gaming experience.
