Once you've crafted the gem from the bits you find you treat it like a consumable: long press to activate, then touch the piece of gear you want to encrust.
Ohhhh ok I have to cut the gem first. Gotcha Wait nvm. My gem is already cut. Do you do this in the inventory screen or where?
Unfortunately, random multiplayer is exactly what all those people asking for multiplayer for the past 2 years should have expected. Don't bother with random multiplayer unless you're willing to encounter griefers and, for goodness sake, don't take more than some healing items and easily replaced stuff (ladders, some torches, etc.) in your inventory if you are willing to risk it (keep your quality tools in the quick slots so you can't lose them). Local multiplayer with family/friends? Great. Remote multiplayer with family/friends? Great. Remote multiplayer with random strangers? Welcome to the internet ------ I know they're trying to address some of the griefing problems, but pure griefers will still be around and they'll simply figure out a way to work around whatever changes Pixbits implements.
Wow some people are really burning trough the game and the planets. I haven't even really been on the lookout for portals yet just building my home and uncovering new crafting recipes.
1. don't keep items in your main inventory when you join random multiplayer games 2. wear equipment that makes you immune to fall damage and see if you can kill the griefers before they notice
This is a welcome change. The previous game's exploit was too convenient. Duping took the fun out of that game for me, although it allowed me to build an enormous house. I think that as soon as the use of a computer comes in, the number of exploiters should go down.
Probably reduces it, but I'm still skeptical. The lure of multiplayer griefing for those so inclined seems like it will overcome any laziness about plugging an i-Device into a computer (e.g. a stack of the biggest bombs and the hat that prevents explosion damage so someone can run through an unsuspecting players' beautiful creations blowing everything up). Besides, only a matter of time until duping by proxy is so easy people will only have to go through the hurdle rarely as maps appear online with max stacks of bombs, gems, titanium, etc. just sitting in chests where the player spawns. I confess I don't understand why anyone who's fun would be impacted by duplicating does it, but since you apparently only need the equivalent of a shut door between you and the temptation to resist it, good luck in JJX And if you do feel yourself getting weak, at least this time there are creative world maps where you have infinite everything anyhow and inventories don't transfer, so you can get your demons out without affecting your enjoyment in your adventure worlds
As was said, think you got the original JJ mixed up with JJX. Pixbits doesn't have much patience for the app store shenanigans. 22 months after the release of Junk Jack there has never been a single sale or price change, even during the week when Apple was promoting it as part of the "If you like Minecraft..." feature, which given the herd mentality should have made a sale a no-brainer. Given that, and their intention to keep JJ on the app store as a way for players with older devices to keep on playing the game, don't be looking for a sale on this any time soon.

Unlocked Magmar, greeted the natives and now I'm officially putting off all spelunking until I build something of worth. And also grow a Magical Bean.
