As to whether the sarcastic tone was necessary, of course it wasn't, but when you speak sarcasm as fluently as I do, it tends to be the default At any rate, it was just odd to see someone calling a 55MB anything "large" and expressing puzzlement at the size in general. Last time I considered anything that could fit comfortably fit on a zip disk large was when dial up was standard and you would do things like download Quake 2 maps at work on the ISDN connection there because it would otherwise tie up the phone line for hours at home. To swing this back on topic, that's one of the things that is rather remarkable about the JJ games and Pixbits' design. They're targeting some low end devices (game will run on anything released after 2008), has a small download size, has a small installed footprint (about 110MB), yet rivals the gameplay of those 1+ GB games that cause anything but the most recent hardware to sputter or even choke.
@ C.Hannum... I'm an old school gamer who started with Pong. So I am amazed how far the gaming industry has come from pong, Atari 2600, 7800, Nintendo, sega genesis, sega cd, game boy (packaged with Tetris) to Sony playstation, original PSP, and original ps3. I only wish I had more time to take as state of how far the industry has come, how inexpensive many of these games are and how amazing the indie developers have been able to create such masterpieces! Looking forward to playing junk jack x!
Yeah, I'll admit it can be a little tricky that way.. Another quick way is to just dig straight down, and then to get back up simply equip all the dirt blocks you've dug and click on the square that your character is on multiple times... it'll send you shooting back up in no time. This way will however fill in the mineshaft again though Your character actually jumps down diagonally automatically
Dig out small rooms on the side and put torches along the shaft down, then you can easily find it again by looking at the map. Simple and effective.
Reading these last few posts makes me feel like I have OCD with my ladders all the way down and a torch every four squares...
Has anyone heard of the potential for iCloud? I know that you can do file sharing through iTunes but, no, I don't want to do that, it's far far far far too cumbersome. I'd even take a Dropbox style sync, ANYTHING. I may ship the devs an email, but I'd love to hear them speak out on this and the potential, as without it I can't figure out what device to play on
I played a lot of original JJ on my iPod 2G. At some point I had duped huge quantities of everything. Was wondering if JJX has any means of item duplication - in-game or through a PC program.
Made it to Magmar \o/ What I thought was immunity to lava was really... immunity to lava, but the locals are not friendly and the music is very ominous.
Does anyone know if you can break down old armour? It seems a waste to just discard it once its been replaced
The first game had a Junk Machine that would give you the base components of any crafted item, but only sometimes as dictated by your luck stat. I'm not sure if it's in JJX though.
So on Terra I found a Portal Piece Chest, but it was submerged in lava. I was looking for a final piece, but when I opened the safe with my hammer the lava destroyed the piece (luckily there was another one 15 blocks below and I made it to Seth). This has happened to me twice, (one time wasnt a portal piece) and I've tried everything to get rid of that lava. Anyone know what to do?
I bought terraria yesterday, however I've been hesitant about this game, and I need some questions cleared up: 1. How big is the world size, and how long does it take to reach the edge from the spawn? For terraria the worlds are tiny... 2. What's creative mode like? 3. Are there pre-made tunnels in the ground? Like caverns or stuff..?
