Not really. Well, i cant really say for CR3, but for the first 3 CR titles, you dont need to play them in order since they only have a few related lore, but not necessarily sequels in terms of their story. CRO is a prequel to the original CR, but it's more like a spinoff as it's an in depth background story of one of the characters you can partner up with in CR. Think Dirge of Cerberus in how it is to FF7.
Chaos rings 3 doesn't look like it has any relation to the others so you can play it, I just want to read Shaun's review nao
You know I figured... Lol. I was trying to be tolerant but it's possible he enjoys causing misery. At least we won't be hearing from that anymore Now on to actual game discussion, I'm hearing favorable things about the game. I'm sure you can play it without knowing Japanese but you'll just miss out on the details of the story. And yes I want to grow up to be like Shaun :l
Yeah... But IMO, the strengths of the CR titles are its story and its characters, so not being able to see who they are or what they are going through is going to spoil the experience.
I agree. RPGs are made for good stories. CR had a very interesting storyline. I'm just trying to hold out :/ i was so excited to play this then when i realized it wasn't coming in English my heart sank
Well if that's the case then I'll be playing this one for sure. I may lose a little background but if it's good I'll buy the bundle with the other three!
Hm.. so you're saying you'll play CR3 Japanese version and if you like it, you'll buy the bundle for the other 3 in English? Tbh CR3 looks very nice but you should be doing it the other way around (especially considering the price tag). You should play any of the older 3 and if you like those, you can buy the newest game in full Japanese since you have a feel for it. However you're free to buy as you please Disregard everything I wrote if you understand Japanese. Then you could probably buy any you wanted.
I think he will be CR3 in English. If he likes this game, he will buy the other thee through the bundle.
Just what I thought after reading that preview. The game was probably going to be freemium and they changed it very late and thus we're left with a premium game without IAP but with different currencies, daily bonus and other freemium-thingies. And I must say that I still don't know how I feel about the game. On one side all this freemium-like features and not so dark story with generic anime characters, but on the other one it's Chaos Rings...
