So far? Orphaned kid in the sticks wants to move to the big city and become an explorer. He wants to find the legendary Paradise, as his father wanted to. He teams up with a couple of other kids to make a go of it. I'm only a short ways in. The prologue gave me hope that there's something dark behind all this candy-colored surface, though. Interesting stuff. I'll have a big write-up for Monday on this as long as I can push through it over the weekend.
I don't want to read anything about this game... immensely jealous. If you can read / understand Japanese.. I am very jealous I want to play CR2 right now and I can't even play that! wtf.
Well, study for ten years, and you can, too! I'm sure you won't be waiting terribly long, Lawliet. SE has a big hole in their schedule after DQ3.
How did you learn japanese? Was it like living in Japan and you learned it? Or you used a guide or something? And me to so jealous
Studied for four years while I was in University before moving here. Osmosis took care of most of the rest.
Cool I wish I could learn japanese. anyways I just saw the 1 hour of gameplay on YouTube. I heard this game was 50 hours long. And the game has little voice acting. ._.
yup hopes something dark in the storyline.... it seems a very colourful from the youtube videos..... Any info on US release?...
What attention should it be getting? Perhaps try a japanese forum if you speak Japanese. Ok yep, CR3 has been released in japanese. Looks cool on videos but, It may as well be an exclusive PS4 game lol.
I'll have a big review-sized article up on Monday. It's good and there's more to the story than meets the eye, as you'd expect from Chaos Rings. Not going to spoil anything about that, though. The gameplay is nice, with a lot of great tweaks on the familiar battle system and a ton of new stuff in the character building and exploration. It's still a bit more shounen/young boy than I would optimally prefer, but it's not as bad as I was fearing. Please check the main page on Monday to read more details.
Graphics look great to me. One of the best graphics for RPGs on the appstore. Possibly even the best graphics for any iOS rpg. And I happen to like the art. It's not dark like the others but the art is still beautiful. I also can't tell how you can tell the characters are usual fantasy tropes when you don't understand a word they say.
