Another issue with the game: save slots. Why on earth can I not name the save in addition to the gold and chapter and time annotations it already makes? I'd like to have a slot devoted to a given character build, but that's really hard to do when you can't distinguish the characters from the menu screen.

    Hello Skryia,

Thank you for your passionate post! You'll be happy to know that most issues have been spotted and addressed by the team. You'll see when Act 3 is released, but let's discuss them in detail.

We have been working on the enemies' behaviour, so that now their actions are delayed by X seconds each time you act. Moreover, if an enemy acts, the other will be inhibited for a few seconds.
Time is not supposed to stop completely because we want the combat sessions to be as thrilling as possible, but this tweak will definitely smoothen the experience.

We're happy to inform you that item durability has just been increased.

We are re-tuning the enemies so that all builds to be viable. This will also help you enjoy playing with our character progression system. We want the gamebook to feel like a real RP session and that means that you'll be fighting in a style that's consistent with your attitude as a character. For example, if you play a "calculating" character, you'll have many options in a single combat session to unleash your Kai power - which you can't do if you progress through the story in a more reckless way.

We have tried to make the process that leads you into the game as fast and smooth as possible. We feel that re-naming the save slots would actually make it a bit convoluted and slow.

This said, we do hope you'll enjoy Act 3 and the novelties it features.

    For Sommerlund and the Kai!

    Thanks for the response!

I still believe having a toggle that allows one to stop time whilst in a menu would be a good thing (especially for old people like myself, I was in college when the Lone Wolf books were originally published), but I'll wait and see and complain again if need be. :)

I'm also unsure how well your ideas about making all builds more viable mitigating the inability to assign stats. Because right now, you really have a much easier time if you balance your choices so that you get strength early on and augment with dexterity or intelligence choices after enough strength is locked in. Which really isn't doing the plot and plot choices a favor. We shall see, I suppose...

Finally, is there something that can be done to make it so we have more save slots and it's more obvious which variant of Lone Wolf was running that slot? I'd really like to try different choices, see what happens, etc etc and the current structure really doesn't make that easy/obvious (at least not to me).

In any event, I really hope you guys make this work and are able to make more games in this series, I think it could become a great RPG (I have always loved the setting). Don't let my complaints dissuade you from making the best game you know how.

    For Sommerlund and the Kai!

    You guys are great! [emoji1]

Would you reveal more details about the game mechanics and answer my questions, please?

    1) Does the weapon you choose at the start of the game (sword/axe/mace) have any effect on character's development?

    2) What determines the filling speed of the Tactical Time Bar and the Endurance Bar?

    3) What determines the dodge/parry rate of the enemies? Does your Dexterity or Intelligent have any effect on it?

    4) What determines the critical rate when Lone Wolf hit the enemies indirectly (for example: by using Kai Disciplines like Mind over Matter or Animal Kinship)?

    5) How exactly does having a higher Intelligent improve your Kai Disciplines?

    This is just my guess:

    - Healing: Heal more Vitality and Endurance?
    - Survival: Get more Vitality and/or longer duration?
    - Mindblast/Mindshield: Deal more damage?
    - Mind over Matter: Deal more damage (throw objects at the enemy) and longer duration (throw enemy to the ground)?
    - Animal Kinship: Deal more damage and/or longer duration?
    - Weaponskill: Deal more damage and/or longer duration?
    - Sixth Sense: Longer duration?
    - Camouflage: Longer duration?

    Thank you in advance. [emoji2]

    Thanks!

No, the weapon doesn't affect the character development but different weapons have various skills, cooldowns, endurance consumptions.

Intelligence affect the duration of your turn. The length of the Endurance Bar is influenced but the Dexterity and the time for the refill is modified only by specific items.

Dexterity and modifiers given by weapons and equipment in general (rings, for example).

The critical rate is the same for direct and indirect offensive skills. It is influenced by Dexterity and specific items.

Intelligent influence the amount of Kai Power points, allowing the player to use more Kai Disciplines. Some Kai Disciplines are more effective with high Intelligence (for example, Mindblast deals more damage).

We’re proud to announce that the Act 3 of Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf will be available on August 7th, 2014!

Trying to reach the enemy fortress of V’taag, Lone Wolf will have to explore the Shianti Temple, a place of great power and mystery. New enemies now occupy these subterranean halls, along with traps, curses and the deadly Vordak!

A trailer of the Act 3 will be published next week so subscribe to this tread!

I hope Pocket Tactics and Touch Arcade re-review Lone Wolf come the last episode, for a comprehensive analysis (I think Walking Dead Season 1 received such treatment). With all the changes and the new content, I think a full review of the complete package would be much more representative and useful for readers (and probably add a star or two to the final rating :) ).

    It would be great!

We worked very hard adding contents, tweaking the game and adapting the gameplay according to feedback from players and Lone Wolf books fans.

We honestly think that the game is now better than before and we're still working hard to improve every aspect.

Every Act is a challenge for us and we're trying to progress as fast as possibile, adding new features, enemies and options at the same time.

So, thanks for your constant support :)

The Act 3 of Joe Dever's Lone Wolf will be published next week so here's the trailer of The Shianti Halls, the next step of the adventures of our hero.

In the The Shianti Halls you'll explore a not-so-abandoned place full of dangerous enemies, included the fearsome Vordak!

    I'm excited!

So, a Vordak has 6500 HP, even more than Redfang, a special Gourgaz. My Lone Wolf has only 2250 (250 came from the Sheld shield. I didn't put any point in Strength, ha ha..) Hope I can survive the fearsome Vordak. [emoji38]

I wonder if Lone Wolf can damage him with normal weapons or with the Sommerswerd and Kai Disciplines only.

The Vordak is a powerful foe that introduces new twists to the combat sessions gameplay.

It will take all your skills to defeat it, but fortunately your options won't be limited to the Sommerswerd and the Kai disciplines. The resource and the cooldown mechanics would make it impossible to handle :)

On the other hand, Vordaks will be completely immune to Mindblast attacks, just as in the classic books. Oh, and be careful about that gem ;)
