I'm so very proud of Forge Reply and Co. who have done an excellent job adapting the books to mobile. Simultaneously retaining the feel and environment of the books and introducing so many new features for mobile gaming is a difficult task indeed, but this one pulls it off extremely well. It certainly is a glorious time to be a Lone Wolf fan. And really, we've waited a long time for a proper LW game, with Ksatria company in Singapore going bust while developing a LW game for PC. My only small complaint is that it's quite heavy on the processing and all. My poor iPhone 4S is the bare minimum to enjoy this wonderful game but is pushed to its limits. With the new act II, the updated app has noticeably improved the performance of the game, but I would suggest that for old hardware such as mine, maybe we could do with an option to turn off the fancy graphics stuff to improve it further. But TA users: don't get me wrong, nothing game breaking but just some long saving/loading times together with occasional, slight jerkiness during cutscenes and battles tend to make you wonder if it's time to upgrade your phone... For Summerlund and the Kai!
What is the amount of space needed for Lone Wolf to install currently? I have cleared more than 1GB but it still refuses to install...
Thanks, I got a little better with practice. It does seem like the sensitivity is set to only two levels of pressure; either the lockpick breaks after two attempts or 1...but now that I got to the shop and can buy lockpick a, it isn't as big a deal. Regarding upgradessince materials are so valuable, which items would you all recommend investing in, long term? It seems like weapon level upgrades don't have that much effect, and I have already found a few weapons as well. Thanks! I am really enjoying the experience and finding myself actually role playing in a more engaging and personal way then I have in a loooong time.
I've been playing dual wielding for a full game now (with two Aspirans - for the style points). Dual wielding can be more effective than you describe, you just need to know how to use your bag of tricks. 1) You're mostly dying from enemies ganging up on you during your inactive phase...so the answer is to make sure your enemies do as little as possible during said phase. The most obvious way is to lessen their numbers, but you can do more than that. 2) Use the Sommerswerd as liberally as possible. Why else would you lug a big heavy legendary weapon around? (Try to achieve mastery - setting your enemies on fire is a huge battle advantage) 3) Use your ranged weapons as much as you can. The game rarely lets you run out of ammo. Even better, use ammo that inflicts status effects. 4) Use Kai powers that last beyond your phase. I usually go with animal kinship (wolf attacks even in the enemy phase), camouflage (activate it just before you end your phase) and mind over matter (use it on the enemies themselves - it tends to shake them up and delay their actions). 5) Try to land killing blows with melee weapons, I *think* you recover more Kai power that way. (If someone could confirm this?) 6) One of the dual wielding abilities (Wolf's Rending Claws) can incapacitate an enemy. Use it on a fresh enemy (i.e. someone likely to stay alive during their phase). The other ability stuns an enemy, which is just as valuable. 7) Use food & potions, both before & during the battle. It's something like the Witcher, where battle preparation can make all the difference. Also, explosives are a Good Thing.
Thanks guys! We're constantly optimising the game and as you noticed, we improved frame rate and loading times with the Act 2. It's not so easy to make a game with high level assets (bot 2D and 3D) and keep it compatible with the highest number of devices possibile (and Android is a crazy hell from this perspective - but it's off topic here). But, there's definitely some room left for improvements, so we hope that Act 3 will be smoother!
It's 1.4 GB on the device but it would be more during the installation process, due to how iOS handles the compressed IPA file.
If you're just looking to get episode 1 then I think that it's around 850mb after installation. So you probably need about 2gb or a little less to install it. After purchasing episode 2 it goes up to 1.4gb.
There are three levels of improvement for every weapon but you can only see the next one at the vendor. So, investing in weapons improvement is one of the best options, if you want to deal more damage. Glad to hear that! Pretty nice strategy tips! Thanks for sharing them with the community.
It would be great to have advice in battle. I played 1 chapter about 4 month ago and simply forgot battle mechanics The combat can be really annoying when you can't rest enough.
Previously never one to complain about price drops, I'm actually a tad uncomfortable with this sale. Normally, paying full price for a game at least grants early adopters direct access (as opposed to waiting a few days or weeks for the product to be available on the cheap). With a season pass for future content, however, the extra two dollars we invested yielded us nothing, since the second episode was made available at the same time as the sale. The norm is to either give early adopters early access (a principle primarily spearheaded by Steam Early Access), or access to the same content at a lower price (a concept present in almsot every Kickstarter project and crowdfunding effort). Lone Wolf does the opposite, and has early buyers pay more for the same content, and the same time of access, as those who held out. I certainly don't begrudge Forge Reply the money that might come from additional season pass sales, the material value differenec doesn't matter at all to me (I'd gladly give more to support the product, and would have bought the seasons pass for twice the price), and I don't believe this is the result of questionable business tactics or dishonesty on the part of the developer, so my criticism is very limited in scope If it helps you make more episodes and games, net gain for all of us and the platform as a whole! But it might be advisable to avoid similar moves in the future, and instead reward those who purchase on good faith, first impressions, or a desire to support great developers.
We perfectly understand your point, that's why we're working on a surprise for the early adopters of the Season Pass. Nothing huge but a way to express our gratitude for your support, because we know what means paying in advance for contents what are going to arrive only months later. I don't want to spoil anything but I hope that this is going to be a nice way to say "Thank you"
I believe that is JUST the thing to make just about everyone happy! I should have figured and trusted you fellas were already at work alleviating this issue By the by, with the advent of Episode 2, this rests firmly as one of my favourite RPGs on the platform! (To my mind, the game has broken out of the gamebook mold to become a tactical-action RPG that relies on text for immersion, dialogue, narrative and scenic design, rather than a novel with interactive elements and manual combat.)
Well, since The Wolf Among Us is going to take a while, I guess I'll give this other wolf a try as well Looks pretty good and reviewers seem to really like it
Well, again this game's combat system frustrating me. Add controlled counter-attacks so hero not just stand as a stump but blocks attacks . Add sane combat interface so we can select next combat move strategicaly, not tapping in haste cause you gave us about 10 seconds to have all actions. Add combat pause at least, so enemy don't hit you when you "battling" with "genious" interface. Clarify your system. After 10 hours of playing I still can't see bonuses of ranged combat. Add ability to cast magic between combats, so I can heal. It's frustrating to get killed in two blows just because you can heal yourself before combat but have full mana bar. Current combat is just a mess of similar blows and actions.
I'm really sorry to hear the combat leaves something to be desired. I have this game on my backlog: should I wait for the combat to be reviewed or no?
