    I know what you mean.

Our game director prepared this picture today and my plan was to post it on the Facebook page of the game.

We're talking about the topic so here's:

It's a way to express which is the best way to experience the game: headphones, dark and quiet room, comfy couch :)

Luckily I stumbled upon a $15 ITunes card today and chapter 2 was my first purchase. Super excited to get back into this game.

    Update is fantastic.

    Just one point about combat:
Since combat is such a primary focus of the game, I think players need to have more options/quicktimes/whatevers to block and dodge attacks. Just seeing the main character sit there and get hit by the same guy 3 in a row is not only annoying, its so stupidly unrealistic that it sucks the fun out of much of the game.

IE: more constructive argument: please create more evade options in order to make combat more entertaining. Use whatever means necessary, just dont let me watch my guy get hit until dead without being able to do anything about it.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the advice!

Dodge and parry are passive abilities that can be triggered if you have some endurance left.

You can also activate the defensive stance if you fight with a weapon and the shield. In this case your dodge and parry chances are way higher (100% for the parry). There's a shield ability to do that.

However, we're going to improve that aspect, especially for dual wielding, so we're going to add a way to parry without a shield.

The Act 2 -Forest Hunt- is officially available everywhere!

    Here's the launch trailer.

As said, the Act 2 is included in the huge update that you can download from the App Store.
If you have the Season Pass, Forest Hunt will be already unlocked.
Otherwise, you can buy the Act 2 in the Bookshop inside the game.

About the trailer, may I ask to change the link in the first post of this thread? :)

    Thanks for the reply!

I agree that duel wielding needs mkre defensive options. after a brief and fruitless experimentation, duel wielding is rather pointless bc special abilities r fairly useless and suck stamina while providing no means to regain stamina, whereas the shield block ( only safe move in the whole game!!) allows u to spend a little stamina and get at least half to a full bar of stamina back.

I am having fun, but for example i was just in a battle where i had to foght six total enemies. After killing all the big bad enemies i was left to foght to paltry scrub guys....and due to my fury of previous attacks, i literaly sat and watched as opponents attacked 4!!! Times in a row, i lost 3/4 of a life bar, and a half hour of time went up in smoke as there was nothing i could do (out if stamina and while i had mana to heal, it was still cooling down.)

I understand u r shooting for a certain level of difficulty, and i agree that difficult is good....but the feeling of helplessness and futility that often accompanies combat in this game really needs a solution. I Think quicktime events, progressively more difficult as stamina becomes lower, should be provided in almost all enemy attacks to at least provide more interactability as the enemy goes through these fairly frequent "constant attack modes" and i just have to suck it up.

Summary: difficult is good, but passive helpnessness as the root cause of difficulty is really annoying.

Thanks to you for the feedback!

We're constantly tweaking the difficulty level and balancing the whole experience.
About the approach that you propose, we'll definitely think about this but I can't promise anything :)

The combat system we have developed is pretty strategic so fury is not always the best option!
That's why keeping some stamina for the passive abilities and using the shield (did you notice that the defensive stance ends your turn immediately?) are two great way to control the enemies.

But, as said, we're perfectly aware that there's a lot of space for improvements so new features will be added to the Act 3, like the dual wielding parry I mentioned before.
Obviously those improvements will work also with Act 1 and 2, like the enemies' ranged attacks we added this time (just an example).

Have act 1 downloaded, but haven't gotten to booting it up yet. I look forward to it, especially because of the positive TA reception (despite the iffy review) and the active dev.

Hopefully this'll make me interested enough to come back for act 2 :D

I can finally announce this: Apple chose Joe Dever's Lone Wolf for the Free App of the Week campaign.

So, if you never tried the game before, this is your chance!
As you already know, Act 2 is also available and you can buy it through the Bookshop inside the game.

Considering that we're basically giving away the Act 1, our publisher asked for a small sale for the Season Pass, so the price is lowered from $11.99/10,99€ to $9.99/8,99€.

Hope you're going to enjoy the free Act 1 and then decide to play also the second one!

Just started and I m digging the experience.

Some things are a little unclear though. On my first lock picking session I broke every single lock pick I had. I'm not finding any hints for it on the net either—can anyone help?

One the thing. During battle I sometimes see a quick flash of a circle, Is that just to tap?

    Thanks!

    Let me help you :)

    - Try a position for the lock pick
    - Gently rotate the dagger, without forcing too much
    - If the lock doesn't open, try another position for the lock pick
    - If the position is near the right one, the lock and the dagger rotates more

Can you explain better? Is it the skill wheel that appears when you tap on a weapon equipped on the body of Lone Wolf? Or is it a QTE that you can perform to deal damage/dodge/charge?

There are some tutorial panels that can help you but if you chose to skip them, there's the help button in the pause menu of the book.

Don't hesitate to ask if you need help!

Haha, you're not wrong, that's for sure! Act 1 definitely does feel like a set up though (as with most episodic games, TWD for example, so I can't criticize the game in that respect.) really looking forward to seeing how act 2 takes the mechanics and runs wild with them
