I bought this before the update which addressed most of the big issues I had about the game... except one: loading times. There is a loading screen before and after picking a lock which seems a bit much, same with combat. I have the original iPad mini and the iPhone 5S. I have not tried this game on the 5S yet to compare loading times but I doubt there will be much of a difference, if any. Also the interface is sluggish. The movement animations for the interface bar could be sped up, IMO.

After I've spent considerably more time with this new version I'll post some more feedback. I had a really hard time with my first fight but after dying and redoing it, I found it much easier. I underestimated how fast you needed to respond in order to fight effectively.

I should add that I've really enjoyed the game so far.

Price is back to $4.99 before anyone clicks too fast.

Loading times are indeed not so smooth but you have to consider that Lone Wolf is made by two "different games" in a single app: the book part and the combat system.

So, during the transition the app is loading a huge amount of assets and it's hard to optimize that.

Lockpicking is indeed a 3D scene like the combat system so that's why also that takes some time to load.

But, we will try to improve those times in a future update so thanks for the tip!

Not too far into this yet but can tell that there is something special going on. I can totally see this as the new way of doing game books and possibly some RPGs.

I'd be having more fun if it wasn't crashing all the time.

Still, they did address the difficulty issue. Thank you for that.

iPad 2, iOS 7.x, as my tag says above, and every time a new event comes up it's crashed once so far. I boot it back up and it works until the next event.

No crashes for me either. Air with iOS 7. If running on iPad 2/mini make sure all other apps are closed and try resetting the iPad before playing. Not saying it will solve the problem but can't hurt either.

That's exactly the same advice I was writing down but you arrived first.

Try to reboot your device as the game is pretty demanding in term of hardware and iPad 2 is the oldest device that we support.

I have enjoyed the first act but it did seem a bit short and there was not much excitement. If the point of the first act was to hook you in and hopefully persuade you to buy the season pass, well it worked.

I do think the interface should be sped up as it seems very sluggish and also unresponsive at times.

I would like to see more variety in the combat. The fighting has become very predictable and not very challenging. The AI for the Giaks is really poor. I think the difficulty could be ramped up a bit by giving the Giaks more strategy and special abilities.

Overall I give it five stars and look forward to the rest of the series.

Wow.. Just finished act 1 and I am amazed at how much of a grip that hard on me. I couldnt put it down even after having to start over because I exchanged my iPad so I lost progress. Amazing experience, cant wait for the rest of the acts!

I'd like to post some details about what is included in the latest update of the game, as we're receiving many questions about that.

    Here's the list:

    • - Combat sessions have been made easier, more varied and more playable.
    • - Now, the final boss can't defeat Lone Wolf in the very first turn of the fight.
    • - Potions can now be drunk from the inventory in-between fights.
    • - Kai Power now regenerates during the fight and Endurance does it faster.
    • - Quick Time Events and gestures are easier to perform.
    • - The "page flip" suggestion is now given less frequently and its sound effect has been deactivated.
    • - Many bugs and text typos have been fixed.

Thanks for your excitement and don't hesitate to post your comments if you played the game after the update!

I honestly can't remember if it happened also here on the TA forums but, many fans of the game asked for the soundtrack of Joe Dever's Lone Wolf.

We joined forces with the guys at 93 Steps for the soundtrack of the game, a talented group of artists that already worked in the gaming industry in the past. They composed the five audio tracks that you can hear in the game, both in the book and in the combat sequences.

So we're very proud to share all the tracks here so you listen to them in streaming.

    Which track do you prefer?

We worked on a making of video for the soundtrack of Lone Wolf.

The video shows the creative process, from the beginning of our collaboration with 93 Steps till the recording sessions.
It also covers many details about the approach to the Lone Wolf license, the purpose of every track included in the game and a glimpse to the writing process.

This is a present for all the fans of our game that supported us and are waiting for the release of the Act 2.

Great game albeit a bit of an short experience, but with very high production value. The German Translation is done very well for example and the story kept me hooked till the end. On a downside I've had the game crash on multiple occasions when achieving new abilities.

Anyways, I've supported you guys by buying the Season Pass, hope to see longer Acts in future releases.
