This. Plus, after having bought Joe Danger Touch at or around launch I only recently spent quality with that game and felt that it was too soon for more JD. But at 69p I'll add it to the backlog. Edit: 99p
Is it normal form to have a game at $0.99 and £0.99..? Shouldn't the UK price be £0.69? (this might happen quite often, but can't say that I've noticed it happen before!)
The 99p price point appeared around July last year. Bridgy Jones is the first game I remember using it. Apparently there's an alternate price scale that devs can choose for non-US countries.
Gonna pass on this. Just can't get behind these business practices. Thankfully I was only mildly interested in this.
It may be 69p but I'm going to give it a miss. I have way too many unplayed games that need my attention. The last thing I need is adding yet another title to that long, long list.
If it were not for the iap barrage I might get this, but I'm not paying for freemium. At this rate it'll be free in no time!
That's because that chart is dominated by freemium crap like Candy Crush Saga and Clash of Clans. This game was #26 on the paid chart.
It's the same for us in belgium : 0.99. I try to avoid these games. In this case, it's not really a problem, because if i like a lot the first one, this one looks like exactly the same, and i still have a lot of other games to discover. Sometimes, the game is very interesting, and it's hard not to buy it
Last time I buy on day one for a hello games product, I don't mind things dropping in price and offers but it is annoying when you get on day to see it reduced in a week. The first game was better in my eyes too....
Welcome to the App Store. These drops aren't specific to Hello Games, this is how the store functions, so either you have the patience to wait out price drops, time your purchases near holidays, season changes, promo windows, or pay full price. Download Appshopper and you can easily track price fluctuations of apps. The recent flood of posts slamming Hello Games is pretty silly though. However, the negative comments towards the IAP is warranted. It's really annoying in a game where you have to constantly replay levels to perfect them, to get a nagging IAP boost window. Thankfully I only dropped .99 on this title, because the way they crippled the rhythm of gameplay makes this a quick delete. Devs do us a favor: 1. Release an IAP riddled free version and a Premium non IAP balanced version 2. Premium version does not have Twitter integration 3. Premium version does not have Facebook integration 4. Premium version works with iCloud for leaderboards, achievements, and game saves. 5. Premium version does not have ads.
In case you were burnt by this and the many, many other quick price drops, I was happy to see PG do an opinion piece on the subject. Nothing that we didn't already know. But maybe it'll sink in to a few developers. http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Android/App+Store/feature.asp?c=56638
