Yep. Lot's of work. Takes longer than was expected. As I wrote on the iPhone thread we will soon release a free preview app. The full one is set to be released later this spring.
Hi, dear fans of Joan! Do you want it to be released also on other platforms (PC/Mac/Linux)? If yes, please, vote for it on the Joan's Steam Greenlight page - we do need you voices. Thanks a million! Sincerely yours, HB
Developing a game takes a lot of work, time, and patience (from both the dev and others). Be patient, as more news is to come.
While we are working on more Joan we have desided to release a completely free prequel game. Features: - same game engine - fun - new, different character - slightly different weapons - limited to one starting, but new location (more will be added later) The game is almost ready. We are probably completing it this or next week. Features like cross-platform co-op will be added before the Joan release. We plan to use the prequel game as an open beta-test - so, anyone can get access to it. Features will be added to the prequel as well until eventually Joan will be done. I would be happy to say as Blizzard does "it's done when it's done", but hopefully we need a couple more months for the gameplay to be finally tuned. Mostly we have done most of what we wanted in part of weapons, bosses and level design - more effects, shaders, fun, particles and blood, interface and what makes game a game, the gameplay tuning. Will post more info here when it will be submitted for the review. Until then we'll be more than happy if you vote for Joan on Steam Greenlight And especially happy if you share it with your friends that can vote as well.
LOL Today my 6 y.o. daughter was playing "The Cave". Eventually she came to the stage with the dragon that did eat the princess spitting out her heart, blood and bones. So, she doesn't want to play it any longer and is very disappointed, even shocked. But somehow she likes Joan and is not unhappy seeing blood in it, although I and my wife don't allow her to lay her hands on Joan.
Today we added a new screenshot demonstrating a part of the coop multi-player gameplay, John, the new charachter to choose from, and a new level. In the meantime we are closing the time when we'll be able to release a free demo. Don't forget to vote for us on Greenlight.
The demo. The full game needs couple more months work to add not yet done features: - cross-platform co-op multiplayer - character customization - weapon customization and crafting workbench - pet companions - morphing into werewulf/vampires - two more type of weapons - even more levels/locations and enemies We planned the demo as I wrote above to be shorter to release it quickly and not to be something that will make it bad to the main game. I was a little bit inspired by hardcore difficulty games during the "flappy" histeria but we didn't make it as impossible. So, the upcoming demo is: - FREE - FREE - no IAP - the new character (John) - two new locations (sewers and metro) merged into an endless level - 5 weapons - start with knife/gun/shotgun - unlock melee saber and laser gun with laser flare - then upgrade weapons - highly increasing number of enemies - new, cool sountrack - dynamic light and particle effects - did I already mentione it being FREE and with no IAP? In terms of content may be even a little less that latest beta test was before the TestFlight was bought by Apple and has become impossible for sharing builds with non-devs. But it is much more polished and fine tuned and will be available just to everyone - so they can try and tell us their feedback. And I won't really call it a demo as it develops. It is planned to be the free satellite to the paid game with different set of levels and etc. We will be adding more stuff, levels and content into the free version as the main game gets developed. I can promise you a new level in the free game for each 20k facebook likes
Are you sure about Test Flight? I've been invited to and joined Test Flight betas in the last few weeks
