For me the problem is when i restored my iCloud backup from my 3GS to my new iPhone 4. It looks like there is something wrong with the save file. (I also tried a restore by making a new iTunes backup, but it does the same thing). I hope as many as game developers for iPhone/ipod/ipad, will make use of iCloud backup for their save game. And also possible to store the data on game center so you can restore all things otherwise that way.
If devs add to this game a "campaign" mode, this will become one of my preferred iPhone games of course !
Well, it's sure discouraging. Easy to re-purchase the counterfeit machine (you don't have to pay again for this download) but to lose all progress, all gold, all badges --- whew, feels bad. Hope they can fix this. Might have to do with iCloud as some have suggested.
Hey guys, Right now we are looking into the bug where people are losing stuff. The current build went through 150 hours of QA on 15 different devices and we never had a problem! We only have X amount of control over what happens when people upgrade their devices and the like, so bear with us while we figure it all out! In the mean time, I'm just going through my PMs right now, so if you messaged me you should hear back pretty soon!
No more Bike Baron for you! I'm in the same boat as others. I upgraded from a 3GS to 4S, and I lost all of my coins and purchased items. Kept my high score and level, though.
I actually lost all my Bike Baron progress when upgrading to iOS5 as well! So sad I have a funny feeling that if you are using Openfeint, it may (for some reason) not sign you back in on your old account. However it THINKS you should be signed in, so you get assigned some random Player29489080 style account. If you would be so kind as to check your OF account or OF setting and let me know, that would be awesome
You're right!!! I was logged in as some random Player. I logged out and back in as myself, and I have my coins and purchased items. Thank you very much! That sucks about your Bike Baron data. Fortunately, I was already on iOS5 before purchasing the game.
Muscat was right! I had lost all my money and items, but kept my achievements. It turns out on my new phone, OpenFeint had assigned me a new ID. When I logged out of the new account and logged back in to my old OpenFeint account, everything reappeared. Try it! Also, to make up for the loss (before I figured this out), Muscat was working on restoring all my money and items. Great guy, great customer service. I'm going to go buy more Halfbrick games right now to say thanks.
In Jetpack Joyride, two things interest me the most: coins and BGM. So... here's some jetpack requests: Silent Jetpack (or one that doesn't make ANY sound) & if possible: A jetpack that mutes out all except coin SFX (eg. vehicle noise & running SFX) Strange requests, but I just want a jetpack that's silent so I can listen to the glorious sound of collecting coins and BGM. Think that's possible?
Yeah, I would love a silent jetpack! Preferably they just make the rainbow jetpack silent because that sound really bugs me but the jetpack itself is so cool! It would make sense too to make the rainbow jetpack silent, since the scientists do not run away when it's on, which makes no sense with the irritating noise it is making now that would make everybody run away fast. If it were silent, that would be the perfect explanation for the scientists merrily going their way
I finally bought the game after all the endless attention... and you can QA a release for 150 hours but not put in ANY sort of tutorial, instructions, etc??? Come on. Really cheap. Yes, I get it, tap the screen to thrust. But I shouldn't have to spend 5 minutes figuring out what the hell is going to on to figure that out. Tell the user!
Very serious. A two or three static page tutorial like "Tap to thrust, release to fall!" "Avoid these!" "Grab these!" would do wonders. No user should ever have to figure out how to play a game on their own. That should be game design 101. Even if this is a super amazing game, best game ever, whatever, that doesn't change.
Hey look, it's the guy who bumped a 3 year old thread..... Yeah this game is WAY to hard, they should have put some instructions or something with it, I've had this game for 2 months and I still don't know how to play..... *sarcasm*
Game design 101: 1. make game so easy that even monkeys could finish it in maximum 30 minutes; 2. make tutorial for monkeys; 3. make tutorial for tutorial. Some monkeys have problems even understanding the tutorial; . . . 101. make achievement for completing tutorial.
