2D, 18H, 12M, 36S & 2,586,124 Miles later, my favourite part of the game is always the point where I push harder on the screen to beat a zapper.

    Whats yours? :D

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but two ways to make this achievement easier is to 1) restart the game if you don't get the bird the first time around 2) crash as soon as possible when you get any vehicle.

I find praying to the Halfbrick gods also helps. Somewhat.

This game has kept me entertained for a week and for 99 cents it was worth it.

You go to the stash, in the Jetpack store, and you buy another one with your coins.

'Germaphobe' is really doing my head in now - particularly as, again, I've hit 2,000 M and only realized I must have touched something (although what I don't know) when the achievement didn't appear.

Use Head Start at the top of the screen - touch coins with no way of avoiding them. Pick up a vehicle - get a ground-based one and run into a bunch of coins that can't be avoided. Flying in the jetpack - hit a run of coins that channel you into a scientist or have a Spin Token home in on you while lasers mean you can't move.

Getting 2,000 M is no real problem. Getting the 1,750 M with no coins is reasonably okay, too. But 'Germaphobe' just seems to rely on such a confluence of luck (probably because I'm not good enough, I know), over such a long distance, that 'Angry Wings' seems just as skill-based.

I know this is sour grapes, I know I'm moaning and I'm sorry, I know I don't actually have to get 'Germaphobe', and I know I'll get the achievement and go back to enjoying the game and being able to play it 'properly' - but it really is taking all the pleasure out of the game at the moment. It's been ridiculous amounts of fun since I bought it a couple of days ago, but at the moment going for this achievement makes playing seems like a chore. I think it's partly to do with the fact that, more so than any of the missions, you have to change the way you play so radically it basically puts the rest of the game 'on hold'. It's odd that the 'not my fault' aspects of dying in the game haven't bothered me at all until this point. The achievement should be difficult, I just wish it was a bit less random.

Oh well, back to trying... :)

For Germaphobe you shouldn't touch vehicles. It's a lot easier that way!

Other than that, good luck to you!

Oh, oh, if you want to definitely know if you've hit a scientist - wait until you get a high-five mission. Then you'll definitely know!

Ooh, that's actually a really good idea - thanks!

(And sorry again about venting - I'm over it now! :))

Hah, that's ok. If I got a coin for every time I vented after getting 199m or 201m for that other achievement I'd have a lot more than I do now. xD

I only thought about the scientist thing after getting the achievement, unfortunately. Although I got it pretty easily anyway.

It took me about 40 tries... WITH the 750m head start ;x... to get germaphobe.

The trick is to fly to the top as soon as the round starts and then activate the Head Start power-up, and hope to get lucky by not hitting any coins.

The rest depends upon your luck + skill - I found staying 10% at the bottom of the screen (to avoid bigger obstacles), 60% near the middle (able to judge up/down quicker) and 30% at the top to be the best combination for Germaphobe.

If anyone cares, tomorrow I'll make a video showing the Germaphobe achievement!

    Edit:
I actually had a thought - why can we only see walking/running scientists? Why not have them stand in groups of two and three talking to each other? They'd need to gesture with their hands to not seem flat and lifeless, so a few new frames of animation would be needed. I think it'd be pretty cool to see.

So I decided to bite Friday night - bought this with the duplicator (hooray long-term coin investments!). I've got everything done but the stupid Angry Wing achievement. I don't usually like "high-score" infinite games like this, but this game is just fantastic.

Also, Germaphobe was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be from reading here. I bought a 5-pack of Head Starts, flew to ~50m and activated it. The first 3 times, I hit coins during the boost (cue swearing at iPad), the 4th time I twitched into a shocker at about 1700m, and the 5th time I just soared right on past 2000m. I didn't really do anything "special" - I just hovered around mid and played like I normally would.

I think the only trick to it is to get a lucky Head Start...After that, it's no different than playing normally for me! I actually managed to get to ~3200m before I collected anything. There was ONE close call with a missile, scientist, and obstacle right around 1000m, but nothing ridiculous.

Whatever the case, this game is super solid, and I'm VERY excited about whatever updates the devs bring us!

    Congratulations!

I'm looking forward to that myself - yet again, I was sure I'd got 'Germaphobe' only for it not to be awarded. I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong, since I had no coins or tokens and had a high-five mission on.

Oh well. I'll keep trying, boring and frustrating beyond measure though it is...

Congrats! This was one of the more frustrating ones to for me since I had no control over when this would happen, it was random and only happend by chance.

For as long as I've been playing, I've only had this happen 5 times. I kept this achievement in mind just to see how frequently it actually happend.
