OF points???? They were talking abt JCS...where'd you get OF points from(but yes I agree he is the master of OF points)
You are confusing "more important" with "worth somewhat more." I never claimed my opinion to be the former, but do insist that knowledge in specific matters lends weight to any shared observations about gameplay mechanics, since it takes a minimum amount of skill to have experienced certain aspects of the game, assuming one plays by the rules. That's true of most games. Judging solely from the competition replays and recent leaderbords entries (you seem new to JCS), I consider you to be a better player than I. My earlier comments referred more to overall experience, and not to talent. Last edit: Here's my hands-on video of a gold medal in Time Trial 'C' (JCS lite). The time for this run was in the 1:56's (gold starts in the 1:57's), while the best time I've posted for this track on Openfeint (still #1 as oftoday) is ~1:53.
Nah, I got the game on the release, but I never really played for the leaderboards til recently(replays add so much to the game)...Thanks for the compliment!
I don't know why, but this is the only game where I keep on replaying the same level to try to shave down my time.
There has been a few complications with setting up the custom achievement, need to get open feint to allow us to unlock extra points for JCS to add the new achievments for one thing, and I'm mostly taking a break over easter. Hopefully it will all be fixed up quite soon after easter. As for the topic of whos opinion is more important... we value everybodies input, however, to be honest, however, the value of first time players is potentially more important to us then experienced players. Its more important to make sure that the average player can navigate the tracks ok and still enjoy, where as people who really love this kind of game and play it heaps and find all the short cuts are willing to keep trying on any hard or confusing section. One of the big problems with design of this kind of game, is that once you are good at it, it is really hard to judge it from the average players point of view, and they are our main customer. Anyway, there should be a full range of tracks, a few of them will require some new tricks, or some in air steering. The easy tracks will be very easy, but the hardest tracks will be hard even for experienced players.
Well I just downloaded this game for the first time yesterday, and I think it's fine. THe levels are challenging, but not overly frustrating. Also, it's much easier to get gold on platforming than time trial.
Out of curiousity, are you talking about the lite version or the full version? I think we made gold harder to get in the time trials in the lite version, and the later levels in the platforming definatly take some practice to get gold on.
Really?........I need to start racing those time trails on the lite as well then. thanks for the info.
Is there an iPad version in the works? If so, will it be separate from the iPod/iPhone version? I'm wanting to buy the game, but I don't want to buy it twice (I'd rather just wait for the iPad version if it's a separate game).
We have been waiting to see how the iPad launch goes before deciding weather or not to do an iPad upgrade, but, I think we might do it as an upgrade rather then a serperate game if we did do that, however, there is no plan right now.
Nothing against qpawn* or Hook Champ, but the latter requires nowhere near the amount of skill as games such as Squareball and JCS. If there ever were a Mac Shaconey in JCS (have you seen his one-credit Squareball playthroughs?), then he would be the best. Of course that sounds absurd, doesn't it?
By upgrade, do you mean the same game we bought now would still work on the iPad, but would be updated with enhanced graphics so we don't have to re-buy it? I broke down last night and bought the game for the iPhone. Fantastic btw. Probably the best iPhone game I've played (and I've played hundreds of them).
I don't think we would want to make people completely rebuy what is basicaly the same game. btw, Jet Car Stunts is now back in the top 100 Paid games!
Hope your having fun Anyway, here is another DLC level lighting progress update, attached is a pic of level 5/25. You have to drive along the side of the wall in the background of this pick. You can check out all the images so far in our DLC facebook album if you want.
