Ok take the next two 99 cents games you're thinkin about buying, then don't. Get this instead. It's only $2 just get it
The Accelerator does not have an effect on the speed of the car when you are in the air, although, it will affect the sound of the engine, and the spin of the wheels. The spin of the wheels also has no effect on the movement of the car, its just a visual effect. We want to make JCS2 a bit more accessable with a lighter difficulty curve at the start, as well as a lot more tracks that are simply about going fast and having fun drifting, and new game modes to suit different players, I've also mentioned a free style mode, and ofcourse, we will still have very difficult platforming levels because that is the main attraction. We don't intentionally design the short cuts, however, we knew that when designing open tracks like these, that only have a few check points, then it was likely that people would find a lot of short cuts, and I knew from past experience that this can be a lot of fun for people. Some thought was made to try to not let people take too big a short cuts, however, sometimes we forgot, and a couple levels can be almost completly skiped. I some levels, I added geometry to make sure a short cut could not be taken, but people found a way around anyway I think its all a part of the fun, although, in hind site, it would have been nice to have another game mode and leaderboard with no shortcuts allowed. I'm just the developer, so I'm biased, but people seem to like the controls and smooth frame rate, plus a lot of people get really hooked as the difficulty ramps up on the full version. You get a really strong sence of acheivement from finishing a difficult level. As a game developer with over 10 years experience, this is for me, actually the most fun game to play that I'ver worked on. We've never had a sale yet! I think this game is actually huge value for money and we should have charged twice as much, so have always felt like it is on a permanant sale We are more open to the idea of a sale by now, but we wont anounce one unless we have a definite plan.
Well, keep playing the lite version will your still having fun. If you decide you want more, the full version will be waiting for you.
Random_Guy, Hoping my earlier post wasn't a deciding factor for you not getting the full version seeing how your using the same terminology. I'm also not a fan as I posted earlier of this type of platform racing. But the time trail mode which are more regular race style tracks are worth checking out. Just the $2 I paid is worth this alone, imo. Lots of drifting, challenging/playing other peoples ghosts, beating out the clock and a casual mode as well and the graphics (seen skid marks scrapped along the top of the wall when I flew over.....very cool!) And alot more than I could even post. Its a mind-blowing game play and in hopes you won't get turned off as I was earlier. Don't remember what the lite has to offer but if it has the same time trail tracks than thats cool too.
All of the things you mentioned were completely true. I think it was just the fact that when I got the lite version and played it, there was SOOOO much hype surrounding it, I was expecting something through the roof that was basically a perfect game. It's a great game, and I'm seriously considering buying the full version, just the hype put my expectations a bit too high
+11111111111111111111111111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The game definitely worth way more than 1.99. Now that there is a lite to try before you buy, I dont think anyone should even ask for a sale. Try the lite, if you dont find the game worth 2 bucks after that, it probably isnt worth a dollar either. Just steer clear and keep missing (arguably) the best game for iPhone
The lite reminded simply how much I love this game, it is just so good. Anyway you could have the lite version levels unlocked in the paid just cause it is a pain to have to switch apps when you want to play a different levels
We might do this a bit later on, but thats a lot for supporting us further by downloading the lite version!
The contest winners are posted: http://openfeint.com/news/?p=706 I got 3rd place! Intermediate B was so close between the top 3 people. And Hard C between 1st and 2nd was only a difference of .01 Congrats to everyone who won!
I'm on holiday at the moment... so I've just logged on to see how the lite version is going. Wow, this thread has exploded with posts. Anyway, I'd like to say thanks to the people who downloaded the lite version, even though they have bought the game, as this has helped to push the lite up into the charts. And, also, thanks to the people who tried the lite and bought the game I see the lite is now 67 in the charts...
Intermediate B times are messed up....top should be 33:94....yet it shows my time as 34:46(which is #2's time)...ah well...the people who won are correct though.
You are quite welcome, definitely enjoyed the levels in the Lite. Are they ever going to be added to the full version (I'm sure this has been asked but I'm not going back to find it. There are a LOT of pages).
That was pretty damn close on Hard C! haha, you only had to read back 5 posts on the same page Yep, we might do that later on This is currently being investigated.
Has anyone gotton all the achievements? I'm having trouble getting the ones having to do with stunts...like the 1080 and stuff. Which course is a good course for doing stunts? On Normal difficulty, of course.
I found a good spot when I was origonally testing the acheivements, but I can't remember where it was. Some spots are better for spins and some for flips. They 1080 achievement is definatly very tough to get. Also I'm going to run a little promo code competition where you have to answer questions about the lite version of the game. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=966439#post966439 The first question will be coming later.
