The "best times of the week" display on the OpenFeint JCS page hasn't been correct since the first few days that page was created (around 3 weeks ago). Now that there is a contest with daily prizes, it makes sense for that page to be brought current. I've had many daily best times since it went up, none of which have ever appeared there. Is there another way to verify whether a best daily time has been registered within the system besides that page?
Just got #1 world record (no shortcuts - all red rings) in Platforming Hard track C for the third-- and what will probably turn out to be the last -- time since JCS was released. The first time was around 1:05 a few months ago and only stayed at #1 for a day; second time was a few weeks ago - just after the update with the replay upload feature came out Which time is the cut-off point for determining the daily winners?
They should add a seperate ladder which only lasts 1-2 weeks like with Hook Champ, thats more fun imo
Shortcuts do count. btw, anybody who missed the news, there are currently OpenFeint Jet Car Stunts competitions running. link
Got rank 10 on hard c. Woohoo just got 8 on intermediate B also. So they choose one person a day at random who is on the top leaderboard?
I they choose the best time that was done during the time period. So you don't necessarily have to be first on the leaderboard.
One of those "limited edition" t-shirts should be mine, since my time for hard track c is still #1. If it's a cool design, then I'll actually wear it.
And a $100 iTunes GC If I read the rules right, I should be getting $100 for bein first on intermediate B and $50 for being second on hard c....and 2 sweatshirts....right trueaxis? Edit: nvm, just read the rules again.
Could someone please confirm how this competition is working cos I don't fully understand is there a winner every day is it just the fastest 3 on a certain track? If so which track? Many thanks
The following is a link to the the official contest rules. http://openfeint.com/news/?p=642 In a nutshell, there are 3 T-shirt prizes to be won each day (10 days in total, beginning yesterday- 30 T-shirts awarded over that time period) -- one T-shirt to each player submitting the best time on Platforming tracks Easy A, Intermediate B, and Hard C. At or around the end of the contest period (March 28), the top 3 times submitted for of the tracks Easy A, Intermediate B, and Hard C *during* the preceding 10-day period (i.e. excluding any times submitted prior to 19 March, 12am Pacific Time) will be awarded a "grand prize winner" package consisting of a $100, $50, or $25 itunes gift card (for best time, "1st runner up," and "2nd runner up), a Jet Car Stunts sweatshirt, and some Openfeint-related intangibles. So by the end of the contest, a bunch of people will have JCS tshirts, and up to 9 people may end up with itunes gift certificates and JCS sweatshirts as well. Whether one player may be eligible to win more than a single "grand prize package" is unclear. The grand prize winners also get Openfeint points and one of 3 special achievements. EDIT: Ugh. I had intended to write one short paragraph clarifying the rules, and ended up with all the above. Hope it helps, in any case.
#1 on Hard C again. Beat your time by about half a second. I think the limit is 2 prizes a person so best you(or I) can do is $200, 2 Sweatshirts, 2 t-shirts, and 1k OF points from what I understand.. 1st on intermediate B and hard C....
Ach! Congrats. I'm just glad your time wasn't in the :59's yet, because that would look too dominant this early in the contest atop a stack of global times running upwards of 1:00.
i found a bug. it erased all my progress. wait, so does that mean being 2nd in intermediate E doesn't count for anything?
We are currently trying to fix a bug that caues progress to be erazed, however, it wont delete your openfeint high scores so thats ok. Please becareful not to quit the game imediatly after launching the app, before the menu comes up, because this can sometimes cause the data to be cleared. The next release will have a few fixes for these issues.
