We will be uploading a very minor update soon that sorts out a few niggles and the frame rate issue on the iPhone 2G
how do i send a challenge to my friends on OF? i just completed a good score (imo its alright) on a level but clicked continue and stuff sooo i dont know how to send out the challenge? can i send it out even tho i left the screen already, or can you only send it out then.. if the latter then you should make it so you can send out a challenge for any of the high scores you have. maybe make a new menu or something im sure you have this feature anyway, but i cant find it
Sorry, you can only send a challenge from the level complete screen. I guess you could always send your friend a message and tell them to download your replay for that level from the leaderboards and race it.
So, Luke, what's your current stance on the red rings in platforming mode? I mean how do you feel about them? You mentioned something about docking a (hypothetical) point for missing a red ring, yet many of the shortest times in lots of tracks have big shortcuts. I'm only asking because today I skipped the whole 2nd platform, ring included, in Impossible B and it felt it a bit like selling my soul, but it it did cut major time off the run.
The main purpose of adding all the red rings to the game was always more to show you where to go, rather then add extra challenge. It was thought that many people would appreciate being able to take sort cuts. It can actually make the game more interesting. However, I do also think that its a pitty that the leader boards have now way to reward people for taking the "correct" path along the tracks. However, there are a few problems with adding such a feature. Like, first of all, its a lot of work, and sometimes it can actually be difficult to tell if a short cut was taken or not, because the levels are so free form. Also, the level list in OpenFeint is already too long. Wouldn't want to double it with a nother set of levels. (This is also a big reason why there are no casual mode leaderboards) Might do something about that for JCS2... but it is a extra work to do. Version 1.3.1 has been submitted and should be available soon to fix a few things including ghosts being a bit a ahead of where they should be, and a frame rate slow down that was accidentaly introduce into 1.3
again fake times on time trial leaderboards. maybe it's good idea to automatically delete all submitted times without replay.
Unfortunately this has to be done by hand but at least we can purge the fake times. We need to have good judgement on this because people could be playing with the older versions but at least the fake times are easy to spot. But rest assured they will be purged
Version 1.3.1 is now available. - fixes frame rate issue on the 2G introcuded in version 1.3. (Might also speed up other versions, if there where speed isues) - fixes the ghost car being updated 1 frame to early and always being ahead of the player at the start. -fixes issue with car sometimes flipping in replay when pointing directly up. The fix only works for new replays. We are a bit disapointed we all the good reviews we where getting for 1.3 are nolonger highlighted on the app store so. If you love the game, we will love you if you go and update your review for the current version on the app store Thanks a lot.
