Correct, no new levels, but a big OpenFeint connectivity update, it should give people a reason to go back to the old levels while we finish of the level pack. Were actually very excited about the release, we have been having great fun here with the new features.
Why did you not bother to make a simple video of the replay, when you have expressed doubt all along that such a feat could be done? No offense, but I don't "have to believe" you. You have nothing to lose by making such a video, which makes it odd that you would have missed such an opportunity. Other TA members were asking you to make such a video too, way, way back in this thread.
The proof will be in our next update. Luke was just teasing because the next update everyone will be able to share replays and race ghost on them. Luke's run is a very clean run!
If I reinstall the previous version and begin to unlock levels, will that progress be maintained between that and the upcoming app version? Not that I don't want to sit down and go through them all over again, but when this update hits, I'll be raring to go. That ghost replay feature sounds beast.
The new update is all about replays and what you can do with them - wether it be sending challenges out or (should I let the cat out of the bag - why not as we submit tomorrow) downloading them from the high score tables.
good news! it'll be great to see the replay of the best players trying to stole their secrets i still have to beat that damn last level of impossible (i'm looking at you, impossible e)
Racing ghost certainly improves your skills - you can see what works and what not works with the handling of the car while racing the ghost.
Yep, as andy said already, I was with holding information. We are about to submit our new OpenFeint online connectivity update which will include not only a ghost car challenge mode, but also downloadable replays from the leaderboards!. However, no old times will have replays accociated with them, so I've played through all the levels and tried to post respectable times, so when the update comes out, you will be able to imediately download my replays and race agains them. One of those replays just happens to be my almost perfectly smooth run of Impossible E with no short cuts. I just slightly hit one wall at one point. I'm actually a bit suprised how much more fun it can be racing against a ghost car. Some how it seems much more fun in Jet Car Stunts then when I've tried it in more traditional racing games. It also really teaches you about how to best use the Jet to get the best times.
OpenFeint have now given us direct access to moderate the high score tables, and right now I am going through and removing all the bad times from the time trial leaderboards. Hopefully we don't accidentally remove some good times too. The good think about this update is that future high scores will all have replays attached to them so this shouldn't be a problem anymore. Anyway, the bad times where caused by an weird old bug and we have disabled leaderboards on that old version now.
The new update has been submitted to Apple now... Hopefully it should not take to long to go through the approval process. The new version includes: 1. Ghost racing in the form of challenges. 2. Ghost racing in the form of downloadable replays from the leaderboards. 3. Ingame leaderboard table from your friends list. 4. A new and improved menu system.
ok, I went through and removed all the obviously dogdy times that had made there way into the time trial levels. Once this update is out, and people start posting times with downloadable replays attached, I will have to take another look to see if anymore times really need to be removed. I think that once people can download replays, it will do a lot to boost peoples times. Once you can see exactly what you are doing that looses time, it maes a big difference. Just adding the below again incase anybody missed the last post on the last page:
