i've noticed that they are actually available in the current version Just go to the options menu ---> HUD. Nice icons, really like them
We need a bit more space in the JCS menus for some new stuff so we might need to reduce the font sizes a bit. I decided to mess around with the menu style a little bit at the same time since some people don't like the current style. I'm looking for feed back on these screenshots. One is close to the origonal font. The other 2 are smaller. I'm wondering what people thing of that kind of a style. I'm also expermenting with borders on the boxes.
The first one, with the round edges needs to be reduced if we will keep using it. Might post a reduced version of that too if I can find the time.
will you be able to race you own times using the ghost? and will we be able to do this without openfient? i currently dont ave wifi and wont be able to get it for a while. and to me, out of the 3 of those fonts, i like the 2nd the best.
If you have to reduce it it may look too condensed due to the BOLD lettering? If thats the case then I prefer the 2nd choice. It does go hand in hand with the graphics. Just my opinon.
I'm not sure if you will be able to race your ghost car in the next update or not. That might come later, for now its just for open feint challenges. Ok, here are the different menu fonts again for comparison, this time with one extra. The first is close to the existing font but we want to change to a smaller one, and am considering changing the style a bit. I'm looking for feed back.
If your going to give feed back, please make sure you click on the thumnailes to see the full size version. The square fonts are starting to grow on me, but so far most people prefere the round fonts. Any feed back new glowy borders on the menu boxes?
Yeah I did look at the full size (otherwise my poor eyes wouldn't be able to see them to well at this time of night) Maybe have the glow effect only on the header and Play/Back buttons. I'm thinking like a powerpoint presentation where your slide header looks different from the bulleted content.
the square fonts lose the retro feel. It feels too rigid and mechanical. There are good square fonts, but this is not one of them
I prefer the third font (boxy one but not too condensed) as I think it fits better with the whole theme of the menus. However, there is a worry that I was not as clear as the original but when I expanded the picture, I think it's good enough.
