I like the menus, they do fit in with the game.

Ok can you guys just make it so that when you have music running the app doesn't stop it? Just keep the music playing, this doesn't mean the iPod 3.0 integration crap.

    Calibration issues

Is it only me or also somebody else has calibration issues?

The calibration option f*cked up the whole game for me. When I tilt to the left the car goes right , when I tilt it right it goes left ... OR it does not work at all and the car behave like the phone is extremely tilted to one side.

You can choose the default option and it will go back to normal right?

We are a little worried that the calibration instructions can be miss-understood. There are two steps. First you need to lay the phone down on a flat surface like a table, with the phones face pointing up, and press next. Then you need to hold the phone as you would playing the game in a vertical orientation so that the arrows on the screen point up in the real world and press next again.

We tested calibrating to incorrect angles as well as correct ones, we tested with the screen rotation mode and it all works. But if there are any issues, obviously we want to find and fix them.

Already done ready for the next update.

    Sorry about that;)

I don't think its fair to call less reward a punishment but point taken, I did ask for feed back:). I guess I am thinking of the casual mode as a practice mode that lets more casual players build there skills up. If they like they game enough to finish difficult on casual mode then they can switch over to normal mode which will suddeally seem not so difficult anymore, and gives quite a different and new game play experience. In a way the casual player actually gets more game play out of the game.

The reasons, good or not for excluding the impossible levels in casual mode are,
    1) I want the impossible levels to be played the way they where designed to be
    2) Give some extra reward and reason to play through the normal mode.
    3) I worry a bit about letting players go anywhere near those levels with out being skillful enough yet.

Any body else have any opinion on the impossible levels not being unlockable in casual mode?

Also, with the leaderboards, as was mentioned before, half of the reason for leaving them out is because it will be too confusing to navigate the leaderboards using openfeint.

    Like he said.

Finnaly done impossible E and in zero retries, i found the last bit by far the hardest. This week has been good for me on jet car stunts, got a world record and finnished impossible E in 0 retries. Hell yeah!!

I started doing a little work on some new levels for a level pack. Was having lots of fun, but I seem to have lots of other things to do now.

Here are a couple of early work in progress screen shots from our in-house level editor from a new level. This level features some new geometry types for JCS that makes banked corners and wall riding much easier to do. I've got lots of ideas to do that didn't make it into the origonal set of levels.

The is no lighting on the level yet, the textures are just for the editor, and the ground is only there for reference while making the level, it will be removed in game.

I think the new levels will be paid DLC.

The screenies look awesome cant wait to get playing some more levels. And congratulations on the IGN award, a great game like this deserves credit.

    MMMmmmm....Looks WAY cool

Any timeline on some new DLC?

Would love to have some new levels...been kinda suckin' on the last few impossible levels :(
It's weird but this is one of the few games that even though I struggle with some levels, it's still fun!

Been running through some time trials lately...Good times!

Not really decided yet. Definatly wont be december, and definatly wont be January. We plan to have an update with some opienfient update for the begining of feburary with stuff like a friend challenge mode. We also need to finish of Space Tripper for iPhone which has been a long time coming. We have no firm plans for exactly what the first DLC will be, or when it will be, but, as the pics show, we have started work on it, and I am excited about many new level ideas I want to do!

I know this is just my opinion but to be honest in those screenshot I think the floor adds a nice touch with the shadows and everything. Even makes it feel more trackmania like:)

The shadows are just there to make it easier to see where things are when we make the levels.

I have a question. Is that OpenFeint badge on your icon a requirement for having OpenFeint in your game?

I don't think it is required but it is recommended to show the App has OpenFeint capabilities...

I've just been testing all the casual mode stuff. I think we are nearly ready for the submission of the update - mind it will not be till Jan that it will get onto the App store.

I guess the new levels (DLC) will happen around Feb... As Luke pointed out I'm busy getting Space Tripper finished off for the end of Jan. But Luke has made a start on the new levels - he's coming up with some new ideas for track designs.

Once Space Tripper gets out the way for me (I quickly look over my desk) and look at the PSP dev kit, and imagine Jet Car Stunts running on it ;) While I'm doing that I'll be also getting all the DLC code in place for the level packs for the iPhone.

And once that is out the way I really must get some of those 99c game ideas onto the iPhone... It looks like 2010 is going to be hyper busy :)
