oh my... i think i won't play casual mode. hays... this are better update ideas by Simmon: 1. The new trick car with own platroming type levels 2. New dlc for red car 3. Your own ghost through OF like hook champ, and challenges
Be able to upgrade your car .. Ie. Suspension etc. Tracks focused on drifting .. This is one of my favorite applications at first I hated it because of controls but when I got used to it , it was really fun .
Wow! The casual mode sounds pretty fun. Especially on the time trials. It'll be nice not having to worry about falling off and just going balls out! I think it'll be great for people just to pick up & play too. People love watching me play but think it looks too hard to just try. Kind of a tough learning curve at first. But now I'll just have them try out the casual mode and let them go at it. Still curious...When? BTW I think the respawn would be fine if the rewind is too much of a pain. The rewind would be WAY cool...Kinda like on the game Aera! I just don't think this game really needs all the upgrading your car stuff...that works fine with NFSU. JCS rocks just the way it is! It's so nice to know that you guys are actually trying to improve on an already GREAT game!
We will have it ready very soon, but I don't think there is any chance of getting apple to approve it before 2010 with xmass and new years holidays and stuff, so I guess it will appear january. The tutorial and casual mode is definatly aimed at people who give up, or get frustrated easily because they are missing out on a fun game.
These things will happen. But the next update is about making the game casual friendly. After that, the real content updating will start to happen.
Now we're talking! Always thought 5 was a bit too long anyway. 3 laps would be perfect for casual mode!
Game Impressions seriously, where have I been. I just bought this, and it is such an absolutely amazing game. It has become my top app and i cannot put it down. Seriously TrueAxis, you should be really proud of this one as it really is awesome If the app store was full of developers like you guys, i think we can all agree, the app store would be even more phenomenal than it already is cheers
Honestly, I think the front end for the menus is kinda cheesy looking. I love the game and think it plays just fine the way it is (although making it more casual friendly in certain modes probably isn't a bad idea), I just think everything needs to be tied together a little more cohesively. Great job on the game guys! Also, although the current front end isn't the flashiest, I really appreciate how there are next to no loading times.
We definatly put our effort into game play and not the menus. The menus where designed to be simple, and have fast transitions to let you get into the game quickly and not get in your way. I've changed time trial casual mode to 3 laps now, but there are no leaderboards for the casual modes.
I love the idea of a casual mode to allow less-skilled players (like me) to experience more of this great game. But why punish us? I think separate casual-leaderboards would be a great additional motivation even for us. And why exclude the impossible levels? In normal mode, i think, i will never reach them. So it would be great to be able to experience them with the added help of the casual mode... Thank you!
I have tendonitis just wanted to say this game rocks , it will b resposible for the down fall of my social life, and my possible divorce.
He's right. Skilled players will dominate the leaderboard. casual mode will motivate you to do better in other modes with leaderboards. lol
The leaderboard or lack of for the casual may change at a later date... Openfeint will need to be altered to cater for this (we will be putting some requests into them to alter a few things with the SDK) but the way it works in it's present form is that you cannot separate the leaderboards with a sub menu system. There are 35 tracks plus the casual ones which would have to be listed together. Which means you would have to scroll through over 60 positions to reach the last one - this would be very annoying. I'll talk to Luke about the missing impossible ones... But in a way the casual mode is really a training ground to learn the skills for the normal mode. edit: Mind just reading the posts more carefully, the skilled players would just dominate the casual leaderboards and would be pointless to implement
Wohoo just got the world record on impossible B. Ill try and improve that time now though. Oh yeah so thrilled, this is my favourite iphone game, cannot wait for any update whatsover, preferably DLC or new trick car!!
I've just been testing the new update - the game is certainly easy to play when in casual mode and should please the people that said the game was too hard. The tutorial helps as well, explaining the controls and teaching the player on the tutorial tracks. Also, the game now has music playback. Just start the music of your choice and start the game - it really makes the game more dynamic. After this update we will start to add new content to the game. Then star thinking about Jet Car Stunts2
Yes, casual mode will be just for training, hopefully the not very skillful players will be more motivated to be better with this. Players will just abuse the casual mode leaderboards if you implement it WAAAHHH, poor casual players
