@trueaxis. Fantastic game. You guys really nailed the addictive fun factor. Congrats, I wish you guys all the best. You deserve it! +1 to a "free mode" mentioned way back in this forum. Unlimited jet fuel, maybe better in air steering, and a stunt point accumulator or something. I'm not by any means complaining $1.99 is ridiculously cheap for a game of this caliber.
There's a known issue with iPhone 2G with the game. It will stop crashing if you use headphones or put the phone into silent mode. This has been fixed now and we will be submitting soon with the fix. Sorry if this has caused any problems.
Still loving the game. Just wish I was better at it. Still stuck on the easy ones! I like the difficulty, but it would be nice if those who just aren't getting it to have an option to "up" the number of retries you can have. (Yes, I know you can cheat and do restart, but that doesn't help if you're at the last checkpoint and it took you forever just to get there). Just a suggestion to make it a little easier for those uncoordinated people like myself.
Is there any chance that you could make it so that when you select and option on one of the menus you can drag your finger and let go on another option and it will select that option not the one you originally selected. Quite a lot of other games allow this, i know for a fact eliminate does it. It just geta really annoying when you are in a rush and accidently tap on quit when you wanted restart. Thanks and loving the game
I have a tendency to hit Options instead of Restart on the menu because the words are all clustered a little too closely. Any chance we can get some breathing room there? Loving the game!
What are peoples views on micro-transactions for DLC. For level packs and adding new game modes. It seems when you go into OpenFeint the game has a lot of people playing. With those numbers playing I would be happy with the sales since launch. Unfortunately a lot of people, and I mean a lot of people, are playing with a pirate copy. There's no way on earth we could afford to give new content out for free with the piracy issue. For those that payed for the game, thank you for been honest, but blame the people who are not honest if we decide to charge for new content. For those that are playing a pirate version and really enjoy the game... Come on it's only 1.99USD... Here's a prime example of cause and effect, we as developers are not inclined to add free content because of your dishonesty. So please pay up your dues and make the honest people happy and reward them through honesty.
Id be happy to pay for new content. However much it may be, thinking probably 99 cents? Anyway i have paid for the game. Its a real steal for $1.99.
I'd happily pay the actual game price - or more - for a new mode and levels for that. Yeah, DLC is fine. A free update would be better but seeing the situation, a decent amount of DLC would be great, yeah.
can you update DLC level packs? what about making the new gamemods as a free update and new levels as DLC
trueaxis as you discover the pirates through the openfeint, that meens they get online rigth? well after you discover them activate a switch inside the app and so the thrust becomes 2x more then normal, steering abnormal, anything to degrade the feeling of the game another thing to those who pirate the game automatically add to their name, on the online scoreboard, _PIRATE add some, at least on the first run of the app, an online checkup of their ipod serial number to see if they are legitimate buyers i'm not a programmer just from reading online stuff.. feel so sorry that this awesome game is being pirated..at this price it's really a shame..
Well, the game price of 1,59 makes it hard to think about a price for DLC. The game should be at 2,99 or higher... As usual, I compare this to seeing a movie. 6 Euros for 100 minutes of a movie. Since I seem to need about 20 minutes to solve a level, each level is worth 1,2 for me, but you currently charge only 4 Eurocents for it... That's the problem . Regarding the DLC price, I think, that Tap Tap Revenge created something like a "common price point" with 2 items = 79 US-Cents. I would be happy to be able to buy track packs for the different difficulty levels with 2 tracks for 99US-Cents. But for 99 US-Cents you have to deliver 25 new levels to compete with your current game price....
Interesting question, @Trueaxis or trueaxisluke , how much will a track pack cost and how much tracks will it have?
I've never bought DLC so I don't know... I frankly think I'd have no problem with it if and only if: - DLC has not to be rebought when deleting/reinstalling games (maybe it's already like that, I just don't know), - There isn't bazillions of DLC since I'm a guy that loves to fully own a game... So if you plan to make (some =) 'micro-transacted' DLCs, count me in, since I think it's the way to go to please us here and throw away those cheap guys. By the way, on the French AppStore, Jet Car Stunts is: - 39th overall, - 14th in games, - 3rd in racing games! Congratulations TA, you deserve it.
Hi, Personally, I am not a big fan and try to stay away from games that use DLC instead of evolving and adding to a game that people have bought. This is just a general thing and not an attack on your approach if you go this direction. I am just not terribly fond of being nickle and dimed when maybe the content should just be a free update. As for the number people pirating your app, it sucks, I bought it and like it a lot. It is a shame you may not be able to add content for free as a result but you run a risk of alienating paying customers from purchasing future games you may release. In the end, you have to survive and make a profit, if this is your best option, considering some of the stuff I have posted above, go for it. David
We where at 12th in france before so we've gone down there but we seem to have just hit the german top 10. The problem with that is that when you pull up your finger, it may roll or slide, and at the last millisecond, select another item by accident, which would be even more anoying. The buttons are a little close to eachother. We used to have it so that if you scrolled your finger off the button, it would deselect, but not select another button. However, often when lifting my finger up, my finger would slide or roll off the button and deselect it. There is another possible solution. It could be changed so that you have to scroll off a long way to deselect a button. Then you can lift your finger of, and again try to select what you ment.
For $2.0 the game already has so much content. The way I see it is that most games that give free updates where release unfinished and where initially not soo good value. But... maybe that meathod acutally works better for some reason. Anyway, if we add some DLC with micro transactions we will have to think carefully how to present that. We would most likely give atleast part of it away as a free update.
Hi, My post above was talking more in general terms and not totally directed to your app. You need to do what you need to do to survive, just do not give current customers a reason for feeling they should not have bought your game. As for reasons developers release updates as free content, I would disagree with that being a main reason. Look at Pocket God, so many updates and not just fixing issues, lots of new content. Yes, they are using DLC now but still adding new content for free for customers. In the end, you need to do what works best for you and your business. I just want to see your next game! David
So I just realized i've put about 4 hours into this game..... That is the most time per price I've spent on an app and I'm nowhere near done with this. The most I've put in a single app was zenonia at 8 hours and I think I'll put around 10 in this.
Just after I replied I realised you where just replying to Andy's question about how people felt about DLC in general. But, I suppose a mix of free and paid makes some kind of sence
