Well I decided to get this game after all the reviews and I am sad to say it will not launch whatsoever (Iphone 2G)... I have deleted reinstalled both on the iphone itself and through iTunes... Don't know if anyone else is having the same issue, but Mine happens right after the openfeint check, then crashes back to home screen... Oh well. "Another bites the dust"...
I'm absolutely PRO DLC especially in this game. And I would rather love to race on new tracks from the devs then on wild creations submitted by users. Because, the level design is essential and the True Axis did a PERFECT job here, these tracks are sooooo good. I don't want to waste my time searching in hundreds/thousands of user tracks for a playable/fun one. This is not Labyrinth So, I would gladly pay some more money. I already had a lot more fun with this game than with most others. And I just have been playing for a day currently fighting with the impossible tracks... man, they are hard. Thanks for the challenge...
You said you have lots of feedback of what people want. Why not make a thread in the General Game Discussion and Questions forum with a poll of things you are thinking of adding and then we can choose.
Seems like a known bug (iPhone 2G?), being actively resolved by TA. Try to set iPhone on Silent Mode or use head phoens for the moment.
You have a point there, but I think PG is one of those particular cases. Look at some of the other games, they never get an update and yet they remain in the Top 50 or Top 10. PG is an Entertainment app that will appeal to everyone for its simplicity. JCS is directed to a more specific audience. For example, I bet 98% of the JCS costumers are guys. Also, the pirating is just crazy and out of control. I wished they had released the game as a free app with just a few levels and with DLC for the full game. Like I said, pirating is just out of control, and a lot of it is even coming out of these forums, you just have to take a look at how many people comment here about how excellent the game is, but never notice them leave a single review in the appstore. I know they could be using a different user name, but that is just unlikely. You can tell right away that Big Albie purchases all of his games. Again DLC for everyone, and not because it is ideal, but I believe is the fair way to go.
I'd have picked this up sooner if I hadn't been distracted by some other games. This was definitely worth the wait though. The controls are just spot-on! I love the visual style. It kind of makes me wish for an iDevice Trackmania. Yet since that doesn't exist, Jet Car Stunts really is the next-best thing. Yes, a level editor sure would be a nice thing to have for this game, but I doubt it's as easy to make as some people would like it to be, including it being user-friendly enough for average Joe.
I downloaded this yesterday, expecting a fun, outrageous racing game that I could just pick up and have a blast with. What I got was a much more demanding experience that was slightly disappointing at first, because I wasn't expecting to think so much. After I got over my expectations, I found myself trying over and over to get just the right combination of speed, acceleration and fuel usage to get past the next challenge. It's funny, but I really don't think this game is best described as a 'racer' racing isn't really what you are doing. It's much more like a physics puzzler that uses inertia and aerodynamics as its primary challenges. I'm very much enjoying the game so far.
You've got a replay, after you finished the track. Just press the little triangle in the upper right and the screen is free of stats. But I would also love to see the races from different angles, this game really is already a lot of fun just watching, remembering the thrills you had
1st gen iPhone, latest firmware. I have the same issue. Silent mode allows the game to run, but otherwise it crashes on launch every time. Seems like it should be an easy fix, and I assume an update will be available soon. Great game other than that.
You can use head phones as well for the sound. This will be fixed in the next update. We had to buy a 1st gen iPhone off ebay, just to fix this... This should come by Wednesday. Hopefully a quick fix, and a few other niggle sorts, then submit an update by the end of the week. We tested on every device except the 1st gen iPhone thinking that if it works on everything else it should be fine. Famous last words, I regret not going onto ebay months ago to get this device now Lesson learned - never take things for granted.
This has probably been said but a freeplay mode would be cool, or something similar. If you can make a mode that somehow is based around doing insane stunts and shortcuts - as for example shooting across Just Learning B is very fun. Maybe unlimited deaths/boost bar in this mode.
I think Luke said, that he's working on a stunt area, doesn't he? *edit* How about customize your car?
At first I was disappointed after buying this game, but then I played it and was completely undisappointed. Awesome. Game.
I'm enjoying the crap out of this game. It has the same attraction that Trackmania had on me - very skill-based driving on crazy tracks. I really enjoy JCS's art style and it runs silky smooth on my 2G iTouch. Definitely a keeper, and am looking forward to future updates.
