[ http://twitter.com/trueaxis/status/16034317813678081 ] Quite behind schedule, but atleast its still coming @Trueaxis. What are you using for controls on ipad? I mean, its not really practical to use accelerometer for controls. iPad is a bit too heavy for that. Any alternative controls schemes in the works? Or an option to control JCS using iPod touch as controller (like in chopper 2) ?
He's just saying that iPads are heavier, not that it'll be bad on the iPad. I stopped playing accelerometer-based games on my iPad due to its weight, so I prefer gaming on my iPod Touch instead.
It'll work. But its not really ideal. Playing Real racing on iPad gets tiring too. And I;m afraid playing JCS will be even worse. Not that it'll stop me from playing it. But the other option could work better (IMO). I prefer the iPad over the iPod too. But I stopped playing games which need accelerometer controls. For those I still use the iPod.
I am just trying to say that the weight problem you mentioned is not universal. I and I am sure many others do not have any problems with the weight of the iPad when playing with accelerometer controls. Maybe because I am older than others but my 5 year old daughter seems to prefer the accelerometer controls on the iPad too instead of using the iPhone. I haven't seen her complain about the weight. I don't mean to downplay your opinion though. Having options for controls is always important.
@truaxis Hi i noticed you are having leaderboard trouble with game centre, How about overall time per "world" if that makes sense.
There's no easy answer to the problem... The option we need to take is to use Openfeint with Game Centre, which OF handles with ease, because we need features like the replays coupled with the leaderboards. But the thing about OF is when you post a score it updates the Game Centre and Openfeint servers together. The real problem is with Game Centre you can only have 25 leaderboards, a strange limit that Apple set, and we need around 70. Other news is that we have a universal build of the game working but we need to update the menu graphics. And Luke needs to set some time for that, so no promises on a timeline. I managed to get the iPad full screen with anti-aliasing working So it looks nice barring the menu stuff. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great Xmass and New Year!
I'm having issues with the IAP. I bought the level pack, but the download failed. Now when I try to buy it again, I get a "You've already purchased this but it hasn't been downloaded. Tap OK to download it now." immediatly followed by a "Purchase cancelled: Pleasy try again later" message. If I try to click on "Restore", I get a "Restore has no purchase: Please buy the DLC before you can restore" message. Seems like that either way, I'm stuck. Any ideas?
That sucks. This is the first I've heard of this. Make sure you are online before trying. You could also try turning the phone on amd off then try again. If your desperate you could try reinstalling the app completely. Also, can you download the lite levels ok? I guess we had better take a look into this. I hope this hasn't got anything to do with the enabling of android support... I don't see how it could, just seems like the timing is a coincidence.
Any new status on an iPad version of some kind... Even better would be to have special features for the iPad 2's extra performance .
Been too busy supporting the JCS android, completing JCS WP7, and now trying to get JCS2 upto speed, as well as getting a couple unanounced projects moving.
There isn't much Android and WP7 stuff to distract JCS2 now. I'm hoping in a couple months time we might start to have some Work in Progress ready to show, but no promisis yet. There is a lot happening here. There could be some other games coming from True Axis as well that some JCS fans might also enjoy. The iPhone market is certainly much stronger and easier to developefor as well. I'm not sure what the piracy rate is like, but we certainly get a lot of users downloading Jet Car Stunts Lite on android conpair to the full version.
WHICH GAMES? If you're not yet prepared to tell, then please hint at their general nature, or at whatever it is about them that you expect will appeal to us. [I'm looking for a new 3D platformer with little or no combat, have you any of those in store?].
