I've had this game since day 1 and always quite enjoyed it but found the iPhone a bit limiting somehow. I got an iPad about a week ago and even though I'm just playing it as an upscaled iPhone game it looks great and plays even better. I had my doubts about running upscaled games but Jet Car Stunts has shown me that they're not necessarily a bad thing, with the extra screen size more than making up for a few slightly jagged edges. It feels more natural than on the small screen of a phone (to me anyway) and I'm more in control as a result. I've been playing avidly now for a few days and I think there's a fair chance I'll persevere with the tougher levels now and buy the DLC too.
It's very hard for me to play the game without anti-aliasing now - that shot on the iPhone 4 without the Retina support looks sooo blocky compared to the after shot. I'm pretty proud that we achieved the high frame rate on all iDevices (iPod 1st gen runs super smooth) and as the newer devices came out with iOS 4 to enhance and still have that super smooth update. The iPhone 4 has overkill, as it has anti-aliasing turned on as well as the Retina screen. That really proves how powerful that device is - the mind actually boggles just thinking what can be done with that hardware.
My game data randomly erased itself. Irvwas before the update and about 5 days after I'd dwnloaded the dlc. My username on OF is diffusion8r, all my highscores are intact and it has happened to no other games and I have done nothing like delete the app. All stages aren't unlocked and medals gone. help!
I just came home and made the update. What can I say? On IP4 this game is wicked Thanks for the retina support, made a real good game even better.
Do you have a backup of your iDevice in iTunes? If so restore it from that. Beyond that, and I am sorry, but you will have to unlock the levels again. This was a very old bug that we that we got rid of ages ago and I think iOS 4 with task switching has brought it back We need to do another update for the Openfeint upgrade and I will take a look. Sorry again. Edit: I just noticed you have a first gen iPod. But we compile with the 4.0 SDK.
+1 I agree with you. I do miss the AA on the iphone (using 3gs) A LOT but I feel I have more control and accuracy on the iPad. I can certainly see the track easier with the bigger screen. I still keeping dreaming of an iPad native version .
No I have a 3rd gen now, as long as it's just a bug and my iPod hasn't gone crazy I'm fine, wanted to replay the levels anyway.
When iOS4 comes out for the iPad you will be able to have anti-aliasing and the larger screen size for Jet Car Stunts.
That will be good enough for me until JCS2 . Those screenshots would look great on the ipad. Now if they would just release a beta of iOS 4.x for ipad developers so that I could get it installed . I am rather surprised that they released a beta of iphone/ipod 4.1 before releasing a beta of 4.x for the ipad.
Absolutely loving this. I've had it for ages but never gave it a thorough go over until the glorious Retina Display update came out. Top banana.
I can't quite remember if anybody who guess how to get to the cheat menu posted it on here, I know there where a few good hints given, but this is how you do it. -Go to the main menu. (The menu that appears first thing after the TrueAxis intro screen) - Tap the top left corner once - Tap the bottom right corner once - Tap the top right corner once - And finaly, tap the bottom left corner once Or watch the you tube vid and see if you can see what my finter does: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hvDfxK3LYM There are 2 colours you can change your car too, or you can unlock all levels. Note that next time you start the game, your cheat menu changes will revert.
After you guys finish Space Tripper, can you make a racing game with these physics? I'm loving the maps with small jumps and just roads made for drifting. The sense of speed is awesome. But I'm serious. All the other racers in the appstore are really uninspired, boring, and console wanna-bes (bar a few such as lil' racerz). By the way I love how you can perform tricks to skip like half the map and reduce your times. I spend so much time doing that, it's like endless replayability.
Hi How do I go about removing my times on normal platforming just learning e and intermediate e because I cheated and want non cheating laps. If you could remove them I'd be much appreciative. It's normal platforming not the level pack levels. Many thanks Mtblegend
