You can download the level pack on any device so long as it is the same itunes account that purchased it the first time. You will not be charged again. I believe the download content is handled by Apple not them because Apple must approve everything.
Hopefully the developer can clear up the confusion because that is not what I have read in the past. So if I go to purchase the DLC on my iphone with the same account after I already purchased it on the ipad it will not charge me the $1.99 again even though it tells you it will be $1.99? Will it prompt me that it is already purchased like regular apps once I click 'Buy' ? Has anyone tested that?
Well, I think with DLCs you'll be safe. I've synched multiple devices to one account, (mine and my fiancee's) and never been charged. To the best of my knowledge, and that of my credit card's, all DLCs are connected to the iTunes account. Not been double charged once for doing this, eg; Land Former, CoD: Zombies, etc... I think you're safe here.
I tried it and you were correct. It shows a dialog that I have already purchased it and shows purchase success. Thanks! Ill edit my previous post to make sure people don't get the wrong idea. So yes... you can get DLC onto all your devices on your itunes account without repurchasing.
I really didn't like the way this works, but there didn't seem to straight forward way for us to fix it so it tells you that you don't have to re-purchace.
Anybody having troubles like this, please turn your phone off then on again. Turn it off by holding down screen of button for a few seconds. We added support for iOS4 multi tasking which unfortunatly made it imposible to quit this screen by using the home button, because when you return to the game it is on the same screen. We will have to think about adding a cancel button.
I had that too. I think it was OF or something because I had to wait a few minutes after OF finally logged me in to finally get past that message.
You should be able to press the home button two times then hold the icons on the task switcher and close Jet Car. Then when yo launch the game again it will start fresh since you ended the backgrounding. I really do not like the way iOS 4 does backgrounding which is why I cannot wait for a jailbreak to fix the numerous annoyances.
It looks like Apple are getting back to normal with the review process because the new updates to the paid and lite are now "in review" So anyone with the shiny new iPhone 4 will get the Retina display with AA on
Cool, thats for that, I didn't know, although, it looks like you have to switch away from the app first, before you can do this to close it.
new levels disappoint a bit... they are more for hardcore Platforming players, the difficulty is very high and no single new time trial level
Hi, I certainly do not speak, or presume to speak for the developer but maybe this is because hardcore gamers are the more likely to buy the expansion pack. Maybe the next one will include some levels for the casual gamers. David
Okay guys... can someone either confirm or dispute what I'm finding here? On the original levels, the hoops that you fly through are "solid" - meaning that if you hit an edge then it sets the car into a spin, or breaks it up into pieces, or, well... you know. Time to try again. However, on the new DLC level pack, and I'm trying the impossible levels here, the hoops are merely visual and I find I'm just flying through them like shadows - meaning that they lack any form of physical substance and, thus, having zero effect if the car hits them. Is this just me, is this intentional, or... some bug, or...? Perhaps I'm missing sth here?
i think that in the case of this game, players who like this game (hardcore or not) will buy DLC anyway. it's cheap and with a lot of levels. changing color and type of the info during the ghost racing, optional shadows (if they are not prerendered), a little bit more space between menu items and auto restart after crash or fly off the road if first check point is not reached. Someone gives a f about such features? If so, than maybe developers will implement it or at least comment on these suggestions.
Are you playing in casual mode? If so then the collision on certain objects are disabled to make it easier.
The reason why the level pack caters for platforming is because we were requested more for these types of levels - the time trial levels do not get played by the bulk of players, so it made sense to do the platforming ones. The difficulty setting is just a progression to the original levels - most peoples skills are pretty high now, unlike when the game first came out, so if we released the new levels with no difficulty progression then people would find them too easy. It's very hard to cater for everyone but it's more likely that the hardcore gamers would download the DLC for a bigger challenge. But depending on how the DLC goes we may add some new time trial levels - we need to see how cost effective doing DLC is. Making new levels and the work that goes into getting them in the game costs money to produce, so before we commit to new levels we want to see how this all goes
