You Don't. We decided to keep the editor as simple as possible. We might consider adding options in the future, but we will wait and see what peoples feedback is like first.
It might be possible to add a feature where you could pause then place an object selected from a menu in front of the car somewhere, but the level editor is pretty cool as it is. Although it is quite limited, it is easy and fun to make tracks, and you can make a new track in a few minuets.
Checkpoints can be made with the editor. When the jet fuel gets low a Checkpoint button will appear on the hud - you just tap it and a checkpoint will be laid.
But what if we want to lay a checkpoint before using up any jet fuel? For the purpose of having a checkpoint rather than replenishing jet fuel
Actually, I believe that Jet Fuel Checkpoint comment was incorrect, I think you are allowed to place another checkpoint after you have moved a certain distance and the fuel level is irrelevant.
Today we reset all the server test data we were using ready for the launch. I've just made a few simple user levels with the Level Editor so people will have a few tracks to play on if they decide they want to use this feature of the game
How big will the initial download be? I'm wondering if I'll be able to grab it over the air tomorrow at work...
The game will be free... And if you buy the Mega Pack for $4.99 USD you will get all the content and level editor. Edit. Already answered I forgot to refresh. The Mega Pack comes in at around 120MG for all the content.
The free version gives you about 10 levels to play with in the different modes plus the use of the level editor but without saving the level. We chose this model because it suits the Android market but yes it will also help with piracy as well.
Hard to really know how much of a problem piracy is or not, but it is certainly true that piracy is much worse on Android, and we get many more sales on iOS, even though there are many more Android handsets. JCS1 Lite was downloaded more on Android then iOS, but the sales of the full version on android are just a small fraction of on iOS. However, I think I mostly see the way we are doing things as the best for consumers, you can just buy the part of the game you are interested in. You also don't have to get tangled with different free and paid versions of the app. It will also give us more flexibility in the future with new IAP. Some people have voice the opinion that they feel better about buying a full game rather that IAP though.
