It's purely a windows phone exclusive for JCS1 but for JCS2 there is no such problem, so will feature a Freestyle mode.
I'm a huge fan of the original jet car stunts, and super excited to hear that the sequel is finally about to come out. The only problem is, I have switched from iOS to Android in the last year. How close is JCS2 to Android release? I'm dying to know.
After we get the update of True Skate done in January, I'll be going straight on and doing the Android conversion of JCS2. Most of the hard work has been done on our Android code base because of True Skate so in theory the conversion should not take long - maybe 3/4 months after the iOS release. At the moment we are just going through a list of bugs and by next week we should have a potential build ready for a January release. And through the holidays we will be testing to see if we pick anything else up. But most of all I think we are all looking forward to the Xmas break
Good news on the iOS7 controller front, as we now support them Special thanks to Moga for supplying the controllers for testing. We are still on target for getting a final build for this Friday - our bug list is decreasing in size. The game will definitely be out in January!
Good news Jet Car Stunts 2 will be out in early January! I'm certainly going to enjoy the festive holidays and not think about work for a bit. Jet Car Stunts 2 is finally finished!
Congratulations! JCS was my first IOS game so I'm eagerly anticipating this Not sure if you can say, but have you guys decided on a price point? I got some money left for holiday sales, but I want to make sure I save enough JCS2
Price wise the game will be free, offering: 1. 5 Platforming levels. 2. 3 Time Trial levels. 3. 1 Freestyle level. 4. 1 Racing level. 5. The use of the level editor but unable to upload to our servers and the ability to play other user levels. IAP will be used to unlock the game at various price points depending on what you want from the game. So in US dollars it breaks down as is: 1. $4.99 Mega Pack. Contains the Platforming Pack, the Bonus Pack, and the level editor. Plus the use of playing the user created levels. 2. $1.99 Bonus Pack. Combining the Time Trial Pack, Freestyle Pack and Racing Pack. 3. $1.99 Level Editor. Unlocks the ability to save levels you created, upload them, as well as play other users' created levels. 4. $0.99 Time Trial Pack. Contains 22 new Time Trial levels. 5. $0.99 Racing Pack. Contains 9 new Racing levels. 6. $0.99 Freestyle Pack. Contains 9 new Freestyle levels. 7. $1.99 Platforming Pack. Combines the Ignition Pack, Advanced Pack and Extreme Pack. For a total of 70 new platforming levels. 8. $0.99 Ignition Pack. Easiest of 3 Platforming packs. Contains 20 new platforming levels. 9. $0.99 Advanced Pack. The second of 3 Platforming packs. Contains 25 new platforming levels. 10. $0.99 Extreme Pack. The hardest of 3 Platforming packs. Contains 25 new platforming levels. What we are doing here is offering a one time purchase to what you want from the game - effectively using IAP as it was meant to be used. All you do is choose what you want and pay for it. The Mega Pack is the best bargain because it works out cheaper in the long run. This is a fair system for IAP! With no hidden extras, it's out in the open and you can see what you are getting for your money. There's months and months of content here... much, much more than the original. We have implemented our own server backend for leaderboards and racing against ghosts from the high score tables, we have a challenge system, and users can create their own levels, upload to our server, for other players to play and rate. You can see why this has taken a long time to get ready and we hope you have fun playing the game
Seems pretty fair! So if you want every single thing in the game, which packs should you get? Would it be possible to do a "Completionist Pack" that includes everything for like $9.99? A lot of people here would go for that I think! Also does each pack include future content or will that be more IAP? So excited! : )
$4.99 it is then, there goes any more holiday purchases for me And that's a smart set-up. Reaper did something similar, with the game free and three different unlock tiers, but this seems far more in-depth and flexible
With the Mega Pack you get everything for $4.99. If you start off been cheap it will cost you more in the end. As you buy items from the shop, depending on what you choose, other items will be removed. This way we will always give you the cheapest options on offer. If you buy the Mega Pack then all other IAP will be removed because from there you own it all. If you start off cheap the Mega Pack will be removed as soon as your combined purchases becomes greater than the Mega Pack. So starting off cheap will cost slightly more in the end. Buying the Mega Pack straight off will save you 3 dollars. Effectively you work out your budget and adjust as you go along and the shop just adjusts itself to what it offers. Which ever purchase route you decide you will end up with the same content in the end. This is the most fairest IAP system we could think of where you as a consumer will have choices in what you buy. And we offer bargains on the content - as mentioned if you spend big to begin with (the Mega Pack) you will save yourself 3 dollars.
Oh awesome, didn't realize the Mega Pack included literally everything. That sounds more than fair! Easiest $5 I'll ever spend.
Well, here is an interesting combination of words that I thought I would never see. I can't wait for this one to hit
Andy [Ninth Ninja] Jumped the gun a little with this announcement. You guys on here got luck with some early information, although, I was probably going to announce it very soon anyway. I think the pricing is actually better value the JCS1 over all if you buy the Mega Pack. JCS1 is $3.98 for around 60 levels with 2 difficulties, while JCS2 is $4.99 for 120 levels, 3 difficulties, and a level editor. I guess we should explain that a bit better in the description text
For the Mega Pack (which is all the content) will come in at around 120mb. We have plans for an Android version... after the next True Skate - sometime in January - update I will be moving on to convert JCS2 to Android.
So 1) How would the screens looks different on an older device? 2) In race mode, can you bump into other racers or is it like Trackmania, where they're just ghosts and you pass through them? 3) Are the three difficult modes just harder timer/harder requirements to beat or are the levels changed to be harder (like Super Meat Boy's regular levels vs Dark levels)?
