I had deleted a few peoples entire set of replays because I saw some peoples hacked looking times, maybe I better stop doing that in case it is actually a bug.

However this might be a bit different, there was bad replay where it looked like it was displaying a replay from another level. It is as if some how a replay and high score was uploaded to the wrong level. I'm not sure if it is a bug or a hack. Actually, just thinking about it now, I realized that might not actually be too hard to do as a hack.

There are quite a few extra things we can do to increase anti cheating.

Sorry if this was mentioned before, but is there any chance of GC support (achievements)? I feel like this game could offer a ton of really unique challenge achievements.

Sweet :). I look forward to it. My only request would be that every achievement is skill based and requires me to change how I play, assuming thats possible.

Edit: Just thought I'd say that this game is incredibly difficult...

I'm tempted to buy this game since I really enjoyed the original Jet Car Stunts. However, I noticed a lot of complaints on the App Store regarding the game crashing after making an In-App purchase. Has this issue been addressed in an update yet? I don't want to spend $5 only to have the game completely crash.

IAP cracking software on jailbroken devices is known to cause that issue and it is mentioned in the support site for JCS2 here....

There is a good chance that a lot of the complaints are caused by this, make sure that you take advice from the support page if you do go to purchase the game.

Hmmm. I'm still really on the fence with this title. I thoroughly enjoyed the original... maybe the bugs just haven't been worked out of this game yet.

I see many reviews on iTunes of the current version that cite constant crashes and the inability to save. Those two things would totally break the game for me.

Also, is it just me, or is the icon kind of ugly? The icon for the original game looked so much nicer.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried the free part of JCS2?

If not, you can always grab that and test out the saving yourself, there are 10 tracks with three difficulties each for you to test the progression saving with.
You won't lose too much time on that section of the game if it all goes pear shaped and you won't lose any money, but you may put your mind at ease before making a purchase.

The free download still tracks your progress and posts scores to the servers.

The crashes are really frustrating because as far as we know, they are caused by IAP crackers, and Jailbreak apps. It is unbelievable how many angry support questions and bad reviews we get because of these buggy crackers and apps. It is not like we intentionally make the game crash, infact, the crackers make it quite hard for us to avoid the crashes, but we might have some way to disable the store and give error messages to people next time they boot the game if we detect a crash.

The main progress loss bug has been fixed. Actually, the progress loading was just delayed rather then lost. However, we have noticed some more reports of problems and potentially found one small issue. We really need to look into this carefully. The original JCS also had some progress loss problems, that took us a long time to track down. I thought everything would be ok this time because it is all backed up in iCloud.

We've had less negative feedback about this icon compared to the JCS1 icon, although, the JCS2 icon did go through a few iterations and does look a little different. Biggest problem with it is you can't easily tell what you are looking at so we tried to do something clearer although, it doesn't look as cool.

Thanks for the insight, luketrueaxis! I can hardly believe people who pirate the app would have the nerve to complain on the official App Store page.. gosh!

Anyway, JCS 2 works flawlessly on my iPod touch 4G. Game seems to be saving so far. The Time Trial challenges are ridiculously hard -- and the Stunt challenges aren't exactly easy (require a lot of practice!).

I can see that this game will be quite a challenge.

Sorry to double post, but there is a big problem. My saved data was lost.

After playing for about an hour, all my progress has been erased. I'm not sure if there's any way to recover it now. My device isn't even jailbroken.

I think this needs to be addressed in an update.

    Have you tried:
    1) Killing the app
    2) Turning off wifi/cellular
    3) Starting the app

Generally, that should get your progress to load properly, and then you can toggle on your wifi and wait a moment for it to connect to the server.

Wait... are the game saves stored completely online? If so, that's a horrible design.

In any case, I did what you suggested... it did absolutely nothing.

Force close the app and open it back up and just wait 10 seconds. If your save data is truly gone I would be surprised.
