I've spent a lot of time playing this game the last few days, and wow it is very fun. What I love about it is the easy is easy enough, but the hard really gives you that challenge. Couldn't be more pleased I got this game and bought the packs, has brought hours of fun onto my iPhone.
I don't get why people even do it. What sense of satisfaction does cheating bring? Anyways, I look forward to the new Tron light bike you are planning on adding to the game soon.
It was more of a suggestion than anything. And the "Flynn lives" comment was more of the same but delivered using more of a Darren Brown type method.
While I was deleting some really obvious fake scores, I'm a bit worried I jumped the gun and deleted somebodies legitimate scores. They are gone now and I can't even double check to see if I really deleted valid scores. I really hope I didn't destroy somebodies hard work. Don't get too excited, that looks like sarcasm.
Ok, done. I left that one for a while to investigate. It was a bit different. It wasn't just a fake score, it looked like the replay was for a different track.
Sorry if this was answered before - couldn't find anything through the search function. Are there any iOS notifications for this game or do I have to check for challenges manually? It would be great to receive a banner / badge etc. Thank you.
Don't mention Carmageddon because Luke worked on one of the sequels When we were discussing ideas years ago, I mentioned to Luke that we should do a Track Mania type of game as an easy project to do. Then Luke remembered a rocket boost pickup that was in Carmageddon and a certain level where you boosted from roof top to roof top and it was pretty fun. That's more or less how the original Jet Car Stunts was formulated. I don't think that level made it into the final game but it was stored in the back of Luke's mind and by me suggesting Track Mania the idea came flooding back to him. The rest is history as you say
I don't think the falling through the track thing was a hack, its reproduceable. Try the level "fastest track ever" with the jet, and u can fall through the track at the bottom of the massive drop Also, is there some way that I'm missing to find user levels? How can i search out and download my brothers levels when they don't show up in any of the categories. We need a search function, and the categories don't really make sense to search through right now. Name only goes A-B and then stops
Could we possibly get a stats page? I'm just curious how many total hours I have already put into this game. Maybe also the total amount of resets per level? That stuff just interests me.
I enjoyed Trackmania on PC, but I actually enjoy JCS more. I think it's the whole surreal aesthetic and the more bite-sized levels. It's like the Super Meat Boy of the genre: short levels, but high difficulty, and great overall polish I'd love to see what you guys could do on PC. If you took the gameplay and aesthetic of JCS with Carmageddon-style sandox levels, doing crazy stunts across abstact rooftops, stuff like that...
That is something suggested and thought about before. I'm not sure the balance aspect of a bike would work that wheel though when you are smashing against so many strange angles. No, sorry, perhaps we really should at least add something to the mail menu. I wonder if we could get facebook to send you a private message or email... Or we could try to get push notifications working in an update. The car didn't fall through the level, it drove through the level, then drove all around the air. It looked like the replay was taken from another track. If it was a hack, It isn't obvious to us how it was done, although, we know it definitely wouldn't be impossible. I think that adding a text search is something I really want to add. For now, the only way to do it is to either make sure you get the levels early before the fall off the order buy date page, or get your brother to send you a challenge on his levels. If we did, it wouldn't be retro active. We will keep it in mind though. I really didn't want to be a copy of Trackmania, some of JCS ideas predate trackmania by a long way, but that game really showed how the mechanic for this style of game could work in practice. Shorter tracks seemed to make more sense for mobile, but I agree with you, bite size bits of extreme difficulty, requiring many attempts, can be a lot more fun then tedious filler content. The freestyle mode isn't completely unlike that.
Thats another issue. No challenges without facebook. What if I want to challenge someone on TA? My brother doesn't have a FB, too young
We will be investigating Game Center for this. Also, we will be making the user levels searchable as well
Another bug is probably the fact that you can play hard levels after unlocking them only on easy. Edit: another one of my tracks has a funky replay with an impossible time. "Something Simple"
