Get ready for an epic post

That bug is my bane. No matter how many times it is fixed, it won't go away

You don't want to press it by accident, it need to be far away, believe me! I know from experience.

Flight controls are pitch(or elevation), roll, and yaw. I assume you are talking about yaw control.
There is no tail rudder on theses cars, so no yaw control. You have to roll, then pitch to turn. I kept thinking if we should add a yaw controller using the gyro (which wasn't possible for JCS1), but there are a few reasons why that might cause some problems, plus, it wouldn't be fair for non gyro devices.

We have already made this change. The update in "In Review" as we speak.

I did briefly try bonnet cam, but quickly renamed it puke cam. I don't get that much motion sickness, but unfortunately, that is a pretty good way to feel sick quickly.

Is that 100% reproducible? Strange we didn't notice.

No, I really wanted to keep the levels constrained the same way as the platforming levels in our levels. They are all 3 check points long. I also wanted to limit the length of the track for performance reasons. We did have some arguments about this here, but in the end, I get to choose.

I've heard some other people complain about something similar, if you find out exactly how to reproduce it, let us know. Ofrourse we will look into it our selves when we can find the time as well. More pressing things are to be done for now though.

I regret not finding more time to add in a few easier Jet Car levels at the start. Advice: Make very small movements. Practice on the time trial levels. It is very difficult, but practice makes perfect. It is fun when you master it.

Your progress shouldn't be lost, it is just slow to load in. Just be patient. Make sure you skip the log in screen, and you can even go play the game, and eventually your progress will load in. Shouldn't be more then 15 seconds at the moment I think.

Anyway, if we are lucky, there could be an update out any minute now. (I hope we don't get rejected again, or delayed 24 hours)

Another issue with the level editor that I've noticed is the inability to make really sharp turns. Is it supposed to just stop laying track after a certain angle. My level "Drifter" with the Buggy is a good example of this, and after falling off the side and continuing from there obstacles tend to spawn through my track rather than on the side. Another issue is the tracks seem capable of splicing into each other. Intended? See my level "007 When Drunk" if you want an example.

Finally, would it be possible for you to eventually disable the spacing limit between pressing the button to turn track on and off? For a level editor, that constraint seems really unneccesary and prevents some interesting platform designs.

Yes, if the turning angle is to sharp, it will cause the road to fold in on its self and cause all types of serious issues.

I am not sure we could ever get the level editor completely idiot proof. I thought about trying to stop some of these things bug i the end, it is up to the level builder. If you fall off the side of the track, a block is intentionally placed on on the other side from where you fell off to try to indicate which way to go.

There is a technical reason for that, but it isn't something un-fixable. Just looking at it, I can see it would be good to be able to turn the track on and off more quickly.

I'm guessing it could be a little while before we manage to do a level editor update, but there are definitely a lot of things we could do to improve it. At least we need to get rid of some of those bugs.

Does anybody have some pointers for grinding along rails during the freestyle stages? If I watch replays. I can see people driving along them with perfect precision... almost like they're driving on a normal road. I don't see how this is possible though, I just keep falling off. I REALLY don't see myself grinding along rails that are suspended in the air.

I think you have to lock your wheels on either side of the rail. You have to hit it dead center but it seems to work for me.

We did something pretty similar to the true skate physics here. The wheels have collision on them that will interact with the grind rail, it is still possible to fall off if you over balance, but once you are sliding on the the wheels either side of the rail, they will help you stay on.

I was just about to let everybody know.

Please let us know if any of these fixes don't stick.

The game should copy across all your downloads when it starts up to the document directory. (We followed some out of date or wrong recommendations on where downloads should be stored, which lead to them being deleted if you run out of space. Honestly, we really should have known better then to trust it given past experiences with it.)

If you have already lost some data, a restore will probably be necessary at some point, when you get to a missing level, but, hopefully it will only be needed once.

Can u watch the #1 replay for my level 007? Its the top difficulty right now, I've got no idea why though. The guy's replay appears glitched/hacked, but ill assume glittched. He falls through the track.

Alright, I actually managed to grind a few rails! It's gonna take some serious practice to master doing this, but I'm sure I'll get it eventually.

Looks like the replay for another track doesn't it.

    Edit:

That is a strange one, I am not sure if some body has been doing some hacking, or if it is a bug. Everything looks kind of valid when I check all the data ids, however, clearly the replay looks wrong. Not sure how that could happen.

The difficulty curve on that thing is definitly too steep.

Although, looking at the leaderboards, it doesn't look like people are skipping the jet levels, which is good to see. It looks like there are maybe 2 or 3 levels that have been skipped by a lot of people.

It looks like only a hand full of people have played all the way through on easy.

People haven't got that far through medium and hard, but the game was really designed with Medium in mind first. Hard gets hard quick.

The new update fixed a few issues and people seem to be happy :)

What really gets me is we are still getting some 1 star reviews about a crash on start up and very impolite, Fix it now!.

These people think we must be stupid because the crash is to do with an IAPCracker and not our code... I can actually make this crash happen myself on a Jailbroken device.

When I actually read those 1 star reviews all their credibility is right in the open - basically they are demanding us to fix a crash because they failed to pirate our DLC and what ever the messed up receipts that it generates on the device basically crashes the game on start up with the cracker installed.

All they have to do is delete the cracker from their device and it will work but it seems like they cannot work that out for themselves.

Anyway the next update will have some error messages telling them to delete the illegal software from their devices.

You'll get 1 star reviews for stupid reasons just by offering the app for free. I saw some complaining that you had to pay for levels. Some people don't realize developers need to get paid for their efforts. $5 is nothing.

Looking at JCS2 in the appstore for the first time, opening it for 5 seconds to mash the buy button doesn't really count, I think you guys should add a big disclaimer to the game's info about what the free download entails. Many people are complaining about hidden IAPs in the reviews, and explicity stating that a 4.99 purchase would unlock the whole game would clarify things a lot for most.

Just had to remove some obvious hacked scores.

We might have to think about doing some more serious protection.

Actually, looking closer, there are a lot of bogus scores already.
